I had a bad news my half-sister mother passed away last night. (We saw her until her last breath :crying: )

I know in the Philippines they have these superstitious beliefs if someone dies in the family its bad luck to get married in the same year. (Sukob) well I’m not sure if this applies to me because obviously she's not my biological mother. She supposed to be our ninang too :( me and my fiancé will be marrying this year.

My fiancé will be here on Oct. 6 same days that my half-siblings planning to do the funeral for their mother. (Good thing he will had a change to say goodbye to her)

I know it sad crazy lol but I was just curious. Thanks

(Please pray for her soul thanks)

Firstly, I would like to express my sincerest condolences for your loss. I remember losing my mother a couple of years ago, and it was not an easy road when I realized the extent of my loss about a year after she was gone. Thankfully, I was able to say goodbye to her before she passed away.

Secondly, about 93% of the population of Philippines claim to be Christians. I don't know if they are practicing or not. But based on this statistic, I will assume (with 93% probability) that you consider yourself Christian and I will speak from the Christian worldview.

God has blessed marriage. He said it wasn't good that man be alone. He then made woman as a complimentary companion for the man. God commanded them to be fruitful and to multiply. Anyone who states that a marriage could be cursed is relying on the traditions of men. These are man made doctrines (not usually true), assuming that your religion is Christian. Jesus did not state that men/priests join a man and his wife together, but that God is the one that does it (Mark 10:9). Therefore, if God has joined you to your spouse, how could it be cursed in any sense? He has blessed marriage. Do not let traditions skew your view of the holiness of God's ordination of marriage. When you are married, you will realize that it is good and is a blessing. It can be difficult, mind you, but is a blessing nonetheless. It cannot be cursed in any sense, because God (the Creator of everything that has been made) has created and blessed it.

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

May God bless your marriage.
