I had a bad news my half-sister mother passed away last night. (We saw her until her last breath :crying: )

I know in the Philippines they have these superstitious beliefs if someone dies in the family its bad luck to get married in the same year. (Sukob) well I’m not sure if this applies to me because obviously she's not my biological mother. She supposed to be our ninang too :( me and my fiancé will be marrying this year.

My fiancé will be here on Oct. 6 same days that my half-siblings planning to do the funeral for their mother. (Good thing he will had a change to say goodbye to her)

I know it sad crazy lol but I was just curious. Thanks

(Please pray for her soul thanks)

Condolence... I don't really believe in superstitions, But as far as I know Sukob means marriages among brothers and sisters within a year. I'm not sure about when someone in the family died...

Step mothers don't count. And it would be 40 days after a death. But only one sibling can get married on the same year.

okay that make sense now like the filino movie the sukob right  thanks

Well 90 days from Oct. 6, would put you around January 3rd for her I-94 to Expire. You could get married on January 1st, 2nd, or maybe the 3rd, although man that is cutting it close!

we didn't like the year next 2013 lol

My wife's palms always itch the day before payday.

Ah but the superstition is actually any Friday dating back to the 14th century with the 13th being worse. And if you are Greek then its Tuesday...

Gotto love it.... some people will jump all over any idea just because...
