Well, it has been quite a while since my last post. Thought I will share my experience. My daughter had her interview at Seoul, Korea and everything went well. The staff was great. They are working for immigrants. My daughter's visa is for following to join case. We had an appointment at 10:00 am and we've arrived at the embassy at 9:45 am. There was long line for non-immigrant visa. Showed our appointment letter and no wait. Headed to the 3-rd floor to an immigrant visa unit. There were about 30-40 people ahead of us. (some families, some just joining the applicant etc...) We sat close to the interview window. So we heard pretty much everyone's interview process. There were 3 consuls interviewing.

Before the interview names were called and asked for the required documents. After a while they call your name and ask for additional documents if necessary or give back unnecessary documents, and ask you to go to cashier window to pay visa fee.

Our name called around noon, not many questions asked, verified few questions and said everything seems to be ok and she will get her visa. I have 8 month old breast-fed baby left at home in the US with my husband so my plan was to go back ASAP. Consul asked our travel plan and I said we need to leave tomorrow morning because of my baby. She said it will be hard to get the visa on same day, but she will try her best and asked us to come back at 3:30.

We went back at 3:30 and visa was not ready, because Washington hasn’t cleared my daughter's name yet. I said, I will wait until they close the office and it paid off. We got her visa on hand at 4:45 pm. Flew back home the very next day. My daughter is waiting for her actual green card; the immigrant visa issued is proof of permanent resident for 1 year once it's endorsed at the US border.
