Hello Guys,

I had my interview today at US Embassy Abu Dhabi. The consular officer was an ####. She was so pissed off and asking me like I am did something wrong. At the end she gave me passport back and ask me to check their website every week. She told me your are from Pakistan I need to do Administration process. I asked her how long it will take? She told me it take while for Pakistani Applicants. She asked me following question.

1- How long you have been in UAE?

2- What do you do?

3- Where did you live before?

4- Where did you live before UK?

5- How did you meet your fiance?

6- How people can meet each other on Facebook without knowing?

7- When you met in person?

8- How long you been together?

9- Where you going to be living?

10- Who is co-sponsor?

I have few question which I don't understand.

1- Why the first lady, who took my all papers, she didn't ask for original Birth certificate, police certificate and my fiance divorce decree? She only took copies.

2- I asked consular Officer that she need my original birth certificate, police certificate and fiance divorce decree but she said no need of these your case is completed. we just need to administration process it can take two weeks to 2 months. Why the consular Officer didn't take my original documents?

At the end she gave me white slip. She checked the Administration Process.

Giving you the passport back was not a good sign. Looks like you may be in for a long wait and another trip to the embassy.

Did the cosponsor go with you to the embassy? Like the post above says returning the passport might not be a good sign. So I guess now starts the wait for AP.I have heard of some people getting visa within a few weeks after AP so don't let this experiance let you down. It could just be a agent having a bad day.

The US embassy Abu Dhabi returns the passports to all people who get AP because you have to give back your passport to your UAE sponsor. But the thing I don't understand is why they gave back my original Birth certificate and original police certificates. They only took copies of these documents.

They returned your birth certificate because they have already varified your birth there is no need for it anymore, same thing with the police report. I have seen them ask other to resubmit documentation but they do not ask for those hese items again because they will probably not change . Police report they may ask for another more updated one but its also unlikely. They took copies so they can keep them for there records.

Thanks for reply dear. It felt like they already decided to give me AP because first lady put white slip in my file. The consular officer told me my case is complete. Do you think now they will just do Administration Process only?

Since your case is similar to my case , and u are pakistani having a interview in Abu Dhabi, i should just be prepare for myself and Aamir that we will be put on AP also at interview stage...SIGH ..................

I would hate to be the one to tell you guys this but I have a few friends who had to breakup Engagements because they could not get a visa, and all of them were living outside of pakistan. I dont know what it is but it seems to be a pattern. I hope you are one of the first to prove this pattern to be incorrect and wrong.

I see....well no worries for me cuz every case is different so im not at all worry about getting denied, just worry about the AP process

It’s obvious for citizens of certain countries put in Administration Process (Intensive background check and security scrutiny).

The consular officer asked me how long you have been living together and I said last one year. Then she said your case is complete and just we need to do Administrative Review. My lawyer also told me that my case is fine no need to worry just wait if any issue arise he will handle. Today I got email from embassy that my case will take several weeks.

Those people must have some red flags. The consular officer only checked 221g box and also my lawyer told me that now a days they are giving almost everybody 221g because they are backed up on security clearance.
