I am new to vj. I was wondering if the situation in Palestine would be enough for.me to get my husbands i130 petition expedited? There are many protests happening there and the cost of living has gone up extremely.

Simply living in a country with unrest is not enough for an expediate, cost of living is never a reason. If he lives in an area where there is current active acts of unrest then you might be able to expediate.

You should file one and see if it'll be approved or not. Even if your expedite request gets denied, it wouldn't cause your case to process longer.

While that is the case, it will case everyone else's to delay. USCIS officers will have to stop what they are doing, review the frivolous expedite request, deny it, and then go back to work on other cases. If each and every person files a frivolous expedite, can you imagine how long it would take?

If I do request an expedite and it gets denied will my case get pushed to the back of the line? My i130 was sent to CSC then was transferred to the NBC one week later because they have hurisdiction over the case. I am nervous about the transfer, but I have read that many were transferred so Im just hoping it was to relieve the other service centers.

Some cases get delayed a bit- basically, your case will be pulled to decide on the expedite, and say that takes two weeks, and then put back in line, so it would be "delayed" by two weeks. Considering how long the visa process takes overall, it is hardly noticeable. If you think you have a good case, and the documentation (news reports etc) to support it, go for it.

Merely living in a country with all the political unrest and violence is not enough reason to expedite your case unless there is a direct threat to your spouse's life which will have to be proven by some police report / FIR (documented).

I live in Pakistan where there are lot of blasts, violent protests and rallies but it was not enough to get an expedite even though we mentioned the warnings issued on www.travelstate.gov

Our expedite request was denied without even asking for a proof. That should give you an idea of what will happen to your request should you choose to make one.
