American vs. European (ISO) 2 hole punch

When assembling an I-130 petition, USCIS states (from their site):

* Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

* Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

The 2-hole punch standard in Singapore is 80mm (just over 3 inches), and the American "file binder" standard is 2 3/4 inches.

So does the USCIS want hole punches centered at the top of the documents to be the American standard of 2 3/4 inches or the European (ISO) 80mm width?

Just use paperclips and binder clips to organize the documents. That worked for me through all phases of the process. They will organize it and hole punch at the service center processing the petition.

The file is being processed in the US. So if you are determined to hold punch, use the US specifications.

Exactly. A binder clip or large paper clip is the solution unless you can punch to the US standard.
