Ok so we want to show proof of ownership of the car and house to use as assets. But do we need originals of these or copies? Just because my future mother-in-law isnt so keen on sending over house titles and stuff, so will copies do?

Also at the interview, does the embassy need the birth certificate of the USC? and if they do does it need to be original or can that be a copy?

A primary car ( a sponsor's daily driver) can't be used as an asset.

For real estate a recent valuation done by a licensed appraiser is needed along with any mortgage/lien information so that a net value can be confirmed.

As previously stated a primary vehicle isn't included because you couldn't sell your car without being unable to get to work. if you have a second vehicle that can be used.

the house value is determined based on your house value - mortgage remaining. A certified copy of the title/abstract should be sufficient. Perhaps the letter from the county assessors office as well. Ours lists the owner/s and the assessed value of the house.

oh, well I meant more of that you have to prove that the USC whos supporting you is a USC, so I thought best way to do that would be by birth certificate.

that was proved already at the petition side for your fiance. if you're also using a co-sponsor then you will need proof of your co-sponsors status.
