I was only trying to point out that helping the members of ones own social group is a pretty universal human trait. The parable of the good samaritan is notable for calling on christians to render their aid and charity to those outside their own group, especially to members of groups looked down upon by the high and mighty!

Lol well to be honest, I'm not a fan of Mormonism and I certainly do not consider mormons to be Christians.

I am not aware of any reason for me to not like mormans as for them NOT being Christians you may be right. Words have definitions and theologically speaking, it may be they don't measure up, what I mean by that is typically it is broadly recognised that simply "believing" in the existance of Jesus or God does not make one a Christian lest even Satan would qualify.

But there are certain markers commonly considered essential , such as Virgin birth, death on the cross, atonement for sin, Bodily resurection etc.

I used to know more about the mormon faith but it's been a while.

No, it has nothing to do with proving or disproving. The majority of Christian Churches do not view Mormonism as Christianity because of two factors: 1. Their view of Christ is generally considered to be outside the scope of the Christian Doctrine 2. Their belief in the Book of Mormon directly goes against Rev 22.

No, it has nothing to do with proving or disproving. The majority of Christian Churches do not view Mormonism as Christianity because of two factors: 1. Their view of Christ is generally considered to be outside the scope of the Christian Doctrine 2. Their belief in the Book of Mormon directly goes against Rev 22.

And yet, Revelations was a work commenting on contemporary times, predicting pending events that did not come to pass. Early Christians felt that the second coming was "nigh at hand", and so planned their lives accordingly. One would have to wonder how numerous those first few followers of Christ would be, if they knew more that two millennia passed, and the world is still here.

I think it has already been pointed out that Mormons reach way outside of their circle of believers when it comes to giving to others.
