Hello and welcome to the forum Jacqueline. I moved your post from the K1 forum to the regional one; because your question may be best addressed by other folks going through the same Embassy.

Hang on tight. I'm sure you'll receive more information about your particular situation. good.gif

Yes - a little. Since you mentioned his case was sent to Turkey for processing that means he will need to go there for the interview at the very least. He should also carefully investigate how it will be when he leaves Iran to immigrate to the US. He will certainly need a different pass other than the temporary one or else what will happen when he decides to go home to visit relatives? Could he be detained or worse? He needs to give that serious thought.

As for your other issue - Does Iran require civil or military service of all males of a certain age in the population? I remember reading somewhere that they do. But it may not be strictly enforced. Did his work history on the G325A include anything that could be construed as civil or military service? Maybe try to talk to the embassy/consulate working on his case and explain he, in fact, hasn't worked for the military. See what they say then.
