When it comes time for the persons med exam, (this is for Dominican republic) and they don't know where to get there record of vaccinations, or never had them, or can't obtain them? Can they just have everything done at the med exam for the embassy?

Sure . . . some people try to get their records to avoid having to pay again or get them again. But if you have no records, it's not a problem. At the medical they can determine what is necessary based on age.

A word of caution. If there's no record of having Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), get a titre test, if possible, to see if that shot was given in the past. Otherwise, if an adult gets the shot now, it can lead to painful joints for two weeks or more.

It tests immunity - but of course, CDJ doesn't do them or accept them from other places as far as I know - they'd rather re-vaccinate and pocket the cash! A local Civil Surgeon told me the titre test here costs more than the vaccinations so it's probably not worth it, but I'm sure that differs depending on the location of the C.S.

THanks kitkat, you always have the answer to all of my questions.

So CDJ doesn't do them, oh well guess my fiance will have to get his vaccinations done. Hey, do you know if they will accept his vaccinations if he gets them done in Jalisco and then takes a sheet from his personal doctor saying he had such and such vaccinations? Will this be okay in CDJ and acceptable? Or do you think they will make him get his vaccines there?

Gracias

It's worth a shot. But from all I've read, they'll say it's no good and insist on revaccinating him and charging him or let him wait to do it with a local US civil surgeon. We've already decided not to both and wait until he's here - otherwise he'll ened up getting them once in Mexico City and then again in CDJ (assuming they'll say it's not good).
