Hence the title of this thread. The forgotten facts. Is you life directly affected by war? How about somone take away your job and security. What would be more important.. That or the war on terror, which one comfortably criticizes and condemns from the comfort of their home. I wonder if you would have had the same thought if you were stuck in the WTC as the tower was falling..

Gezz. I wonder if he hadn't gone to war, what sort of BS would the Democrats have thought up about him and 'his' administration...

#######?????? read what i wrote before you post... and answer my question hero...did you serve?

yes I have served in the Australian army reserves. Just got served Biattttch...

PS who ever said war was good?

Edited by Infidel

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

These facts directly affect all Americans:

6.5 million jobs have been created

The unemployment rate is the lowest in 5 years

Prices at the pump down

Stock market at an all time high

A lot of jobs have been created if you're willing to work for nothing. I have many friends in the medical field with master and PhD degrees that cannot find decent paying jobs and they've have been looking for a good job for years. Sucks when you have a good degree under your belt and you have to work 2 jobs just to pay your student loans back.

Prices at the pump down

I could drive a lot farther for a lot less 5 years ago

The joy of quoting statistics is they can say anything you want - Jobs created are irrelevant figures unless you also look at the jobs lost it is the NETT figure that actually matters

"Bush's claim that his administration has "[a]dded 6.6 million new jobs since August 2003." But Bush was touting job growth over a selected timeframe, ignoring earlier job losses. In fact, as Media Matters has documented, the economy lost jobs in 24 of the first 30 full months of Bush's presidency (February 2001 through July 2003), shedding a net total of approximately 2.6 million jobs during that period, according to "Total Nonfarm Employment -- Seasonally Adjusted" data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Overall, 3.2 million new jobs have been created in the first 68 months of the Bush presidency. In contrast, the first 68 months of the Clinton presidency saw a net gain of approximately 16.8 million jobs, according to the same BLS survey, with a net gain of 22.7 million jobs by the end of Clinton's second term in January 2001."

I live in heartland America, Ohio, where I can honestly say they is no feel good factor on jobs, wages economics or anything else this government has its hands in.

Facts are my husband earns less in real terms than he did before Bush, his petrol costs way more (ah being a Brit don't I just love hearing american men ###### about the cost of gas  ) health care costs up service down shall I go on.

The country is not more secure - borders still open, any container entering country still unchecked and airport security checks still fail as often as before. I personally am amused at the ability of ones government to RAISE the feeling of insecurity to profer its own ends - how many other countries have security alerts floating across the nightly tv screens  And we won't mention how many more countries hate america than when Bush was first elected

and on and on

(and as a joking aside I take it from the grammatical error in the title the author did not partake in the "no child left behind" process  )

Come on now. The fact is that GW has received absolutely no credit on the progress of the 'American' economy and on American's security yet every condemnation possible about Iraq..

He inherited a healthy economy and a budget surplus which he quickly squandered - now we have a huge deficit to find the war and his tax cuts - he is not a fiscal conservate -- this affects the average american

Maybe they are in the wrong field. I would rather have a job than no job at all..

PS 30 years ago I could drive even further, what is your point..

The US budget has nothing to do with the average American's quality of life.. How much did sept / 11 cost the economy?? What f it had happened again and hit Boston, LA, FL.. How much would that have cost the economy??

At the end of the day I want democrats to win, congress, senate whatever... Let's see what sort of job these champions and geniuses can do...

Really? Do you know something that Alan Greenspan doesn't?

Which debt private or public?

all I hear is retort. How will the democrats reduce the deficit?

WE are talking about the deficit in the federal budget - the national debt. How do you not get that?

the democrats are saying they will roll back Bush's tax cuts - tax cuts which have been criticized by fiscal conservatives, not just nancy pelosi

So that measure will get rid of the federal budget deficit?

Probably not with a war on -- I don't think rolling back the tax cuts alone will solve it -- incidentally, Republicans have taken more earmarks and pork in the past 6 years than ever before (reported in that left-wing rag, The Readers Digest). And this is probably one of the biggest reasons why they might lose.

Price ARE down at the pumps, lowest I have seen them in 3 years, before we invaded Iraq (no link to terrorism so you cannot really lump it into the War on terror, had nothing to do with 9/11 and SURPRISE no WMD around...except 15 year old chemical weapons that would at best irritate your lungs) the price of petrol was much lower then it is NOW, I am guessing Infidel was not here prior to March 2003.

So, Infidel and any others that support the War on Iraq, since you like this war that according to the Bush Administration NOW had nothing to do with Terror, 9/11, or WMD. Why do you support it...well Infidel seems to be a few months behind because he seems to think it was part of the "War on Terror"...

Facts are: Saddam was NOT a nice guy. Saddam did NOT pose an threat to America or it's interest (well except 1  ). Saddam did not possess nor was there accurate evidence that he was attempting to possess ANY form of usable N,B,C weapons of mass destruction. Saddam was NOT behind 9/11 nor did he support AQ or the Taliban (AQs Iraq presence has arrived since Saddams removal BY the USA).

So unless you have proof that the terrorist were being supported by Saddam (something Bush, himself states did not exist) you can quit using that (and anything that eludes to it) as justification that we (now or ever) belong in Iraq...

Repeated everything with the slim hope that possibly the information provided would force it's way into Infidel's THINK skull and into the tiny brain within.

How do you feel about the new buzz word, "Benchmarks"? Which doesn't sound ANYTHING like "Stay the Course"...
