Hi all,

I am in the midst of completing my forms for AOS- I will be receiving form I-693 from the doc on Monday, and next weekend I will be getting the form I-864 from our joint sponsor (my father-in-law).

While all of this is going on, we have been unhappy with our current apartment that we've moved into last month and we decided to actually move out. We are moving out in the middle of October, but I will have already sent my AOS package WAY before then. I am planning on sending it out next weekend.

So…

I am thinking of putting down my parents-in-law’s address as our own... since the USCIS will be sending me notifications and paperwork, I don’t want it to get lost or risk any problems during this move out process. My in-laws have been living there for years, and they will not be moving anytime soon, that is a 100% guarantee. So that is why I am thinking of filling out the address parts with their address, BUT, I will be putting down our current apartment as our CURRENT address.

(On form I-130, it asks for the addresses that we’ve lived at, and our current one, which I will be putting down our apartment which we will be moving out from, and on form G325, I will be putting down my in-laws address for my wife and me)

There will be TWO DIFFERENT addresses. I just don’t want to confuse anybody. Do you think this will raise any questions from the USCIS? Should I type a letter concerning this issue and attach it along with the applications? I have a feeling I am WAY overthinking this… Someone give me a peace of mind, please.

I put my mother in law's address on all my applications.

No problem at all. I cant remember all these forms exactly, but I Only put down my apartment address when they ask "where you live". That's just for like background check or something.

That is great news. Because I don't really want to confuse them either. The thing is though, how did they know which address to send what? Why wouldn't the USCIS send the paperwork to your current apartment, instead, they sent it to your in-laws? That's interesting. That is why I'm thinking of typing up something. Maybe I should just include "PLEASE SEND ALL RESPONSES BACK TO "[iN-LAWS ADDRESS]" in my cover letter to make things clear.

No reason to. When you fill out the form, put all address as your in laws address. So they know that's the address you want to use. They dont care whose adress is it, and they dont care. I think there is a question asks like what is the last address you and your spouse live together, I put my apartment address. And also on G325a I put my current one, other than that, I put my in law's address. When I was at the interview, we mentioned we gonna move into a new house, the officer asked should they still send mail to the address I put, I said "yea, it's my in laws address and they will never move". He was like" cool!"

They wont get confused, they deal with this everyday.

They use the address you put on the first part of every application. They understand if you want them to send mail to your "current address", you would have put that address on it.

Alright, sounds good! Thank you so much for your help!
