I just spoke with NVC over the phone to ask if they've received and started reviewing the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent form) I mailed. They said they received it two days ago on the 19th (even though FedEx tracking shows me it reached the morning of the 17th). They've apparently not started reviewing the form and told me it will take at least an additional 5-10 business days for the form to be reviewed. Is this normal? I mean they've had it for nearly five business days now already. And I know even after it is accepted (hopefully) it'll take them a few more days to release the IV bill.

Total bummer :(

Relax!

This is normal. NVC has countless other applications they are working on. 5-7 business days is the normal timeframe for the NVC to react to and process the documents you've sent them. Could be less, could be more. Please take a look at my signature to get an idea of the processing timeframes you might expect for your case.

Good luck!

Thanks! That was really reassuring. Question though: It says that there are only certain countries where it works to send them documents online. I noticed Pakistan wasn't listed there but many people on this forum, including you did email the form and it was accepted. Should I also email a copy in case or is it a bad idea to confuse them with two?

Also Good luck with your interview :) Hope it goes really well iA and you get your visa soon!

You are right. Pakistan does not qualify for electronic processing which means you will have to mail in the AOS and IV packages.

DS-3032 is the only form that may be emailed. There is an email template which is recommended.

However, in your case, since they've already received the form, I suggest waiting a few more days, and it will get accepted. Monday could be the day :)

The day we received our case number from NVC, we mailed the signed copy, and also emailed the form; we never received a comformation, but we began receiving the AOS bill (about 7-10 days later?), etc, so that tells you they received one or the other and the processing has started.

We received our case number Aug 31, and rec AOS bill 9-11, so 11 days.

AOS has nothing to do with DS-3032 (aka Choice of Agent). It is the IV bill that is invoiced only once the DS-3032 is accepted.
