I just did 2 days for referring to another member as a terrorist in a thread about the middle east. The moderation on this board is over the top and completely inconsistant. It appears that when someone complains, whether they are right in complaining or not, something will be done. There are too many overly sensitive people here that seem to rule the roost.

Quite true. And most of the complainers don't even post in the threads they complain about. And some get away with far more than others.

How about a (hypothetical) scenario where you could avoid the penalty by signing a waiver that you cannot use any emergency room, hospitals, or medical services without paying cash or making financial arrangements first.

If they offered that as an alternative, would you be willing to do that? Kind of like a guarantee that you'll be responsible for yourself. Fair compromise?

Of course not... When rubber meets the road, the slackers go to the ER and leave the bill for the rest of us to pay.

So we've got people that don't participate in threads but just sit in front of their computer and press the report button all day? How pathetic.

The TOS on this board is written in a way that any post could be considered a violation if one wants to stretch it far enough. All it takes is for one person not to like something and it falls under the TOS permitted uses clause.

I will freely admit there are times I expected to be nuked and It did not happen, even though sometimes I mix absurdity with viewpoint just to be funny. I will also say there were a few rare occasion I got nuked and I was like ?????

Never been suspended, cept the time I got the bright idea to have two user accounts just to joke around. Who woulda thunk they look at IP's lol.

It sucks that TOS doesn't allow personal attacks. I like personal attacks. I want to call everyone a сunt.

That was crude, juvenile, vulgar completely unacceptable and funny as Hale. LOL

I know. I think that is a typical sentiment among people who don't want to buy the insurance. I'd like to hear them reconcile it.

I first heard this line of thought on Michael Brown's radio show. The former FEMA director was advocating that people pay the penalty and then just go to ER when they get sick. This guy's a hard core conservative radio mouthpeice and he's telling people to game the sytem. Nothing but a friggin hypocrite.

When was this forum ever without mods?

Wasn't it? Way back before they split P+R from the off topic section. I don't remember ever seeing posts getting removed back then. IDK, maybe I'm getting confused. They say the brain is the first thing to go.

Maybe he used to hang at ExPats? That was a mess.

Yeah that was just ugliness. That's the poster child for what happens without moderation.

In the least, there should be a repeal of the law prohibiting hospitals from treating patients who can't demonstrate their ability to pay for treatment. It should be no different than checking into a hotel and being asked for a credit card as a guarantee or renting a car and being requested to purchase or show proof of insurance.

If providers had the option to choose whom to treat based on financials, then health insurance should indeed be optional. Until that happens, the rest of us have to pick up the tab.
