Not trying to hijack the topic but...I sent my I-485 application to the Chicago lockbox. The Vermont Service Center covers my location. Is there any chance of our application being approved without an interview, or does this only happen if you are in an area covered by the California Service Center (CSC)?

Thanks.

People say only Original K-1 Applications are getting trasnfered to CSC and even then it's a hit and miss. You never know if you're gonna be transfered.

What do you mean "Original K-1 Applications"? Has anyone within the Vermont Service Center area ever had a case approved without interview?

I don't understand what you mean by vermmont service center. AOS is not handled by these centers. It is your local office that handles it.. such as atlanta, or new york etc. The only reason some cases are being sent to CSC is for backlog clear up.

What i mean by original k-1 applications is if you came to the usa on a k-1.

My apologies Peter. I didn't know the local offices handled the I-485s. I guess either Pittsburgh or Philadelphia will be handling our case. Is there any way to find out exactly which local office will handle a case?

Okay, well at least we are an original K-1 so we have a chance.
