Thank you for your informative answer, 1.618!

I actually called USCIS again after reading your answer, and indeed the lady confirmed what I was afraid of, that my AP no longer is valid from the day I got my approval. :(

So either I had to wait until I get my GC, which could take another 4 weeks in worse case, or get an Infopass appointment and ask for an I-551 stamp on my passport. I got an appointment next Monday, I hope to get my welcome letter by then, if not I just have to try with a copy and the others documentation that I have. Cross fingers again!

Well, I just hope for the best! Things are going my way now, so I am happy, even though this should have happened lot earlier!!

To Jim/Jan: I think you should call the NO office if you have a number to call to. If they don't want to give out information over the phone, try to do an Infopass again. But I am sure you'll hear something from them pretty soon. Good luck!!

Congrats to Dr. KunaL. Happy for you!

PS. While I was writing this, I got a msg from USCIS that my card is in production! YEAH!!

Don't think that I will get in on time, leaving on Tuesday, but at least I will get it soon!

That is great, congratulations. Which do you think actually helped, the congressional inquiry or the ombudsman request (which did you do most recently)? Did the ombudsman respond quickly?

We did congressional inquiry, but it generated a fairly generic, non-committal response. Thinking about doing Ombudsman request next

Thanks Friend. for me infopass worked i stay thire from morning 07:00 Am till 02:00 Pm and then immigration officer came to me and promise me that he will find my file and work on it as soonas possible. Please read my updates.

Thanks,

Dr. KunaL

Finally! CongratS

THANKS Friend.

Congratulations Dr. KunaL !!!!

thanks friend

OK, finally we have some progress, I think.

We had filed a congressional inquiry which the aide sent to USCIS last Friday. Yesterday, we received an RFE (dated the same day, last Friday!) asking for police clearances for all the places we have lived since the fingerprints were rejected twice by the FBI. We are quickly trying to collect those.

It used to be the case that if you had rejected fingerprints and were submitting police clearances, it was a requirement to have an interview (i.e. ineligible for interview waiver). If that is still the case, after waiting almost 11 months, it looks like we are gonna get an interview anyway!

Anyway, atleast our case is at the local office, and somebody is looking at it now.

Hi everyone! I've been watching this forum for some time - as I submitted my AOS in mid September last year. On August 1st I got a text message and e-mail stating my case has now moved to card production! So that is me approved. However, a small scare - a couple of hours later I got some more notifications that put the case back to the "decision" status.... but then yesterday I got some fresh notifications putting it back to the card production stage. So there we have it. All good now. Just over 10 months of waiting..... quite terrible at times - feeling insecure and worrying when it will finally go through. Now it is done. No interview by the way. Was tempted to schedule an info pass to see if I could get things moving, but now I dont need to!

For all of you September filers who are still waiting - it really does look like they are getting stuck into them now - so I really hope you get yours approved very, very soon! Fingers crossed for you all as I know how bad the wait is.

I just joined visa journey right now to share with you all. Thank you for your posts. Good luck to you all.

Glad to see so many people got the GC. We are moving towards the 11 month and still nothing.... I guess all I really can do is wait...right? My infopass was absolutely pointless.

You're not alone, GMa. We are at 10 months and 18 days now and still nothing. Even after a congressional inquiry. But I'm so glad others have gotten approved already!! Our time will come soon :)

Hello Everyone,

We have been waiting very patiently but its now been 11 months 1 days since USCIS accepted our package & we are now getting worried. USCIS website still shows our case under the acceptance phase. Last time when we sent in an inquiry we got a response via e-mail stating (this was 3 weeks back)

"Your application was recently received at this field office and will be processed in the order received. You should receive a notice of action within the next 45 days. If you have further questions you may make an InfoPass to speak with an officer".

Will an InfoPass help? Also the strange thing is that the field office where we received the notification is from DURHAM, NC & we reside in ATLANTA, GA. Does this mean we need to go NC or can we go to the Atlanta office for infoPass?

Any information would be helpful.

Congratulations to the ones who received their GC & Good Luck to the ones waiting.

Thank You.

We pretty much have the same case. My local USCIS is also Atlanta, GA but my file was transferred in Raleigh-Durham Field Office. I got approved last July, so I think yours should be approved anytime soon. I don't think InfoPass will provide you any help right now since yours is already in Durham USCIS for processing.

Good Luck.
