I'm a September 2012 filler!!

I had my first interview in jan 2013.

Yesterday I had a stokes interview for 4 hours!! Still no decision. They told me to wait 4-6 weeks.

I will keep this in mind when I am complaining that I would have rather been scheduled an interview than wait this long. I'm sorry you are going thru that. Good luck - I hope you get your approval soon!

How they start working on October files. I'm happy for them but what happen to September files.?

Thanks,

Dr. Kunal

Saw a February filer get approved at NBC without interview too.

Ridiculous, isn't it? I know they don't care how we feel, it's a bureaucracy and they're only doing their JOB. For that, I don't blame them. But a little transparency wouldn't kill. Trying to trick numbers and processing times isn't honest either. That is what's aggravating to me. I'll wait a year for my CG if they're backlogged, fine. But process people according to their NOA1, it's only fair.

Hi All,

Today we contacted USCIS to try to get an update on the status of my wife's i-485 AOS since our receipt date (Sept 25, 2012) is before the Orlando, Florida processing date (Oct 15, 2012). The USCIS operator filed a service request for us (she was very polite) and stated that we should get a response within 15 days from USCIS re: status.of my wife's application. She said that our application is at the National Benefits Center but USCIS actually contacts the district office in Orlando for the status report since the processing date is past our receipt date (?). We don't fully understand that process - maybe someone else does. Anyway, thats our update info and just wanted to share. Good luck to all and we would be happy to read of other filers' experiences. Take care everyone !

I'm a September 2012 filler!!

I had my first interview in jan 2013.

Yesterday I had a stokes interview for 4 hours!! Still no decision. They told me to wait 4-6 weeks.

So exactly when did they notify you that your green card acceptance would require the interview?

Another thing I'm wonderings.....at what point do we start thinking about re-filing to update my wife's combo card (for permission to work and travel)?

They are only valid for one year. I don't think it expires for another 4 or 5 months.....but is this extension something that just takes a few weeks or is it a few months to get?

Great news that someone from september got an acceptance. I'm hoping that since we are now just past the 9 month mark we would have already been notified if we needed an interview.

Ryan, I have a feeling, the member Pishka is not AOSing from a K1.

EAD can be renewed for free and here's the information for that USCIS - EAD.

Here's my timeline, AOSing from K1. Only thing I did, that not everyone may have done, was to front load. It's not a requirement, but I felt like doing it cool.png
