K1 Jamaica - DHL Pick up vs Delivery

I guess they do home deliveries to mainly areas in the cities or close to one. The DHL yellow slip is the first thing you're given at the front desk of the embassy. You then choose where you want to have it delivered to by writing the address along with your name and contact number on the back. I would assume that if the address that you put on the back, if it's out of their range, they will tell you to choose a DHL closest you for pick up when you go at DHL window to pay.

my status is saying 2 "Shipment on hold" if i dont see an updated status by tomorrow evening, im calling DOS first thing friday morning

ness what is your tracking status - wouldn't hurt to ck with DHL or DOS. But keeping good thoughts for you also.

When I hit the 5 day mark....I emailed the emebassy and asked them the status. They responded and said it will be released shortly. A few hours later..."shipment ready" via the DHL website. He went to pick it up. I had better luck emailing the embassy and calling DHL in JA. Good luck everyone!!!!

I emailed the Embassy twice and they haven't replied. I called DHL and they said the Embassy still has it. I called DOS and they said they are reviewing the documents. Nobody could tell how long it is going to take.

Agree. Some (K1) took 2+ weeks. Not sure how some are processed quicker.

I'm not sure if she was the same person that said they were told they are in administrative processing. If she is, the hold up is definitely due to AP and not so much DHL.

Yeah, it's due to AP. But what causes it to go into AP? Does everybody go through AP after the visa has been approved? I'm sure they review all documents after approval, but it must be sitting in a pile somewhere untouched.

No, not all approvals go through AP. AP is when they do further checks and clarifications for whatever reasons. Hopefully yours will be quick. Just keep getting in touch with the embassy until they tell you AP is over and the visa ready to be issued.

This is all so overwhelming to me....

I do have one questions that kind of goes with this topic. I have been worried about his interview date not being delivered to his adddress due to basically nonexistent address. How did you guys get all your paperwork and interview date??

So he doesn't receive mail at his house? Does he have a PO Box? How does he get his other mail? The Embassy will email you the information they mail to him, if you request it.
