brother robert..an election year..Bush got to do something so his gop "yes men" can say..." we are strong on illegals"

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

It's always important to have something concrete to blame for everything that's wrong in society. It's particularly gratifying if you can blame it on something that isn't home grown, like illegal immigrants.

It's even more gratifying being a politician and being let off the hook by your constituants who only need to hear that you are going to be 'tough on' [insert any policy that you wish here] and they're queueing up to vote for you.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

So what should they do to solve the problem?

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

What problem?!!! We have a problem with our borders?!!! :o

Why set landmines ofcourse... much cheaper and less work...

Or.... we could just grant them all amnesty....

BETTER YET... Let's build a dome over the US, and that way they can't fly, run, swim, or skip into the US!!! :D:thumbs:

Hmm landmines are cheaper, but they can get messy AND lead to more work...amnesty will, most likely, just invite more and more and more over to wait out until we once again grant amnesty in about 2026?

Ah a dome, WONDERFUl, we could even climate control the dome and get rid of the pesky deserts and make it all fertile farmland! WOOHOO!

No offence to other members, but illegal immigration from Mexico is out of hand.

No offense taken, but undocumented workers make up only about 10% of the US work force and only about 1/2 are from Mexico. Not sure I would see that as out of hand.

So when IS it out of hand? 20%? 30%? 50%? OK if the wall works we have solved 50% of the problem, better than 0% we are doing now.

first:I do like the daily show!

Consider this: let us assume HALF the population in the US is considered "work force" or roughly 150 million people. 15million undocumented workers os which about 7.5million are from Mexico. (that is 2.4 million MORE then the population of Arizona(2000) and about 1/3 the population of Texas(2000) or 1.2million less then the population of New Jersey(2005). For kicks, this number is about 100.2 million less then the population of Mexico(2006est) These are just the 7.5 million Mexican undocumented workers)

So what should they do to solve the problem?

They should build a full blown 2000+ mile wall, not a 700 mile segment.
