Just a quick update. Our returned petition has been "touched" today. The note online has not changed, and still says they received our petition with a request to review. In our new I130 petition, I referenced over and over again our previous petition. I wish they could link it by social security number or something. The NOA1 for the I130 is June 29, but has not been updated since June 30th (probably just to send the letter). K1 is now null and void, since we are legally married. I would like to know what the "touch" means. Should I call and try to link it, or just wait?

Touches can be as simple as the file was moved from one location to another, and even from one desk to another. Hopefully it means they are looking at it and know about the I-130.

I don't know what you mean by call and "link it" but if I were you I would not do anything to cause a delay in my I-130, especially withdraw the K1 which is what they might ask you to do in this case. A withdrawn petition is not a good thing regardless of the reason.

I would just keep a watch on it and the I-130. Good luck!

Thanks, Kiyah  I won't call them. When I was talking about "linking" it, i just meant while they are looking at the K1, if I could get them to look at the I130 too. I didn't think withdrawing would be a good thing either. We did not do anything wrong, nor misrepresent anything whatsoever. It is my understanding if we withdrew, we would be admitting that we agreed with the embassy, which we do not at all.

patience is truly a virture that i am still learning :innocent:

That must be frustrating, but on the other hand they haven't forgotten you.

Just a quick question-

Since this thread was originally started 4 years ago, have people noticed a difference in the trend of Casa returning petitions? Have things gotten any better?

It still happens, but it seems that it isn't a prevalent now as it was 4 years ago. Of course it could be the same, but less of those people are on VJ, so how could one tell?

It is definitely still happening, I still get contacted even outside of VJ. I know the cases we have known from VJ are and were merely just the tip of the ice burg.

This is just a thought, and maybe no one else will want to do this, but what are the chances that everyone here going through Casa that had their petitions sent back to the CIS without a resonable explanation would want to send a copy of their 221(g) in one letter to Maura Harty? This way she could see that many people have them sent back without a reasonable explanation as to why, thus sparking an investigation of Morocco.

Whats your thoughts ladies?

Ok... I am all for this if it will help... but I have a silly question... WHO exactly is Maura Harty?

Maura Harty is Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Consular Affairs

Link to her Bio>>>

If it would help i would do it too . I have a question ? who had the Blonde lady at their interview ? why i ask i am trying to find out her bage number? and her name any one know please let me know , Meemee D

Unfortunately names are not usually shared with the public. I got lucky (somewhat) because the 221g was signed as "Kim"...usually the 221g is signed with initials only, and not all of them are legible.

Now...this is only a first name, but when we married a year later, the same Kim handled my affidavit of eligibility to marry, and I saw a stamp with her full name on it.

Was this helpful knowing this information? Not really. It did give me some personal satisfaction to know her name though. She also was not the blonde consular officer.

The Department of State knows who interviews every beneficiary, it is in the case file. All one needs to know is the case number, and the name of the interviewer can be found by the right sources. Will they share this information with you? I doubt that, but it really isn't necessary for you to know their name.

If you are wanting to contact Maura Harty, really this is information she or anyone else in the State Department can get to...all you need to provide is the case number.

Is it worth it to contact Maura Harty? I say when trying to stop a file from being returned, yes it is worth it to contact who ever you can get to listen to you that may have the authority to assist you in stopping the return.

However, if the file has already been returned the case is completely out of the State Department's hands and no one on that end of the spectrum can do anything, it will now be in the hands of the Department of Homeland Security (USCIS).

Until the file has gone through the returned review process, a decision is made by the USCIS and the petition is reaffirmed then sent back to the consulate, the State Department will not be able to do anything with the file.

So, depending on where your case is at in this process it may or may not be worth contacting Maura Harty.

When our file was returned I did indeed attempt to contact her. To no avail however. There was never a response. But best wishes if you try.

I am protesting...I want this issue pinned! :protest:

Petitions Returned to the United States

More and more this is how Morocco is handling visa petitions, and it does not matter the amount of proof of relationship you provide. We need a central place to review/share extremely important information to help ourselves and others going through this issue. Possibly even prevent this from happening to others in the future.

I will gladly create a legible, credible, and searchable compilation of all immigration guidelines surrounding petition return/revocation, research, etc. if VJ would commit to pinning this issue for us. Even if it is only in the ME/NA forum...PIN IT PLEASE?????

Have your wife read this thread. It gives much information on how to go through this process.
