VFS Mumbai Process CHANGE

Just thought I would share with you all that the new US Travel Docs registration is doing it's thing!

We are still waiting to receive his passport and Visa, however, he did get confirmation today that his passport has left the Embassy and is on it's way to the Pune location!!!

He also received an email verifying this and gave the address location of where it's going.

Unfortunately, they don't seem to be delivering to our home address and rather are sending it to a government location here in Pune that we will have to go to pick up his passport and Visa.

Good enough for me! I'm just glad to learn are registration for this new setup actually worked and that everything is on the right track!!

I'll keep you all updated when we get the Passport and if we had to go and pick it up or if it got delivered to our home.

THANKS FOR THE CONGRATS!!!!! It's been a long time coming and I am so ready to go HOME now!!!

Office timings for the VFS Pick Up Center have changed from 9am start to 10am start.

With that being said, we got there, took a token and my husband went in. He took with him:

• His Interview Appointment Letter.
  
• Government Issued ID
  
• Copy of Government Issued ID
  

Five minutes later he was back out with his Passport and Visa Packet!!!!! Visa is good till Feb 2013!!

We are going HOME people!!

With that being said, we got there, took a token and my husband went in. He took with him:

• Copy of Government Issued ID
  

Five minutes later he was back out with his Passport and Visa Packet!!!!! Visa is good till Feb 2013!!

We are going HOME people!!

Congrats Dude....But i am a little bit confused...Did u took ur Passport and Visa Packet from VFS or from Bluedart Office which u must have selected as document delivery address in USTRAVELDOCS.com site...???? Coz in that site they ask us to select document delivery address at ant 33 locations and then we hav to go at Bluedart location instead of VFS..????

And another thing is that do they take any photocopy of our Govt. issued ID or simply look at it and then its fine...???

as i know , your interview on 29'th september 2012 and you get passport on 5'th october 2012,

very long time, you get your passport after 6 days. am i right?

And where you get your passport at Pune OR Mumbai?

my interview was on 27th september and the VO said my visa was approved

and i can travel, and will recive visa in few days. But, no option yet.

its been 8 days did't recive passport. any suggestions will be appreciative.

Hi Krishh_gem, MandyBear recieved their visa stamped passport from Pune vfs pick up office which she chose while registering online and thats why although their visa was ready by Wednesday it took another 2 days time for it to be blue darted to Pune from Mumbai.

About the Govt. ID, I think they might take the copy to place it in their files and the original they will just look for identification of person. But i am not sure of this part.

Mandybear's interview was on a Friday, September 28th. So not considering the weekend, their passport with Visa was ready by 3 business days which they were notified on Oct 3rd Wednesday. they chose their pick up location to be Pune so it took 2 days for it to reach Pune from Mumbai which is Friday the 5th. I have read many posts that on an average 3-5 business days is the processing time for VFS to grant visa. If you pick it up from Mumbai VFS it should be in hand in 3 days time

Sardageri, I am not aware of any difference is visa disposal based off on type of case. visa is issued is a timely manner irrespective of case. Did you go check at the VFS office? Did you choose a VFS pick up location online?

I don't think we have a same day option anymore. I have read posts that said there were more printing mistakes on visas when issued same day. So I guess even VFS officers decided to stop rushing visa disposal to clients. But if you are picking it up directly and your interview is on a Monday then you can collect it on Wednesday. I wonder if we can tell the VFS officer while we get the token to make it a same day or next day visa process????

Hey when is your Interview? If your visa is approved then how many days it took to get the visa/passport in hand?

Hey, Thanks for the reply. Yes I have checked in vfs website, it still showing your passport is under process at US embessy, Mumbai. I choose to pick prom a passoprt location. Do you have any idea what might have caused the delay in possports. Thought the visa is approved.

First of all i would like to thank all the VJ number for their help. My wife Interview went smooth. It took only 5 minute. 5 question asked.

1 What is your husband name.

2 How did he go to USA

3. What does he do.

4. does he have any relative in USA

5. is she have any relative in USA.

My wife had to ask if Visa was approved because IO and Translator kept talking. Translator said visa was approved. IO was standing during the interview and translator was standing on his seat. My wife said everybody interview got approved there. It seems like they were in hurry. thanks again VJ
