That's the issue I have. Earned income should not be taxed higher than non-earned income.

That is also the problem I have with the current tax code. I don't have an issue with paying taxes, but I do feel somewhat jipped when people who live off of financial speculation, don't pay the same amount of taxes as the rest of us, who actually work and create jobs.

That's fine, if you allow capital losses to be used against future earned income.

Investment, not speculation. Short-term speculative trading profits are taxed at the same rate as regular income.

Investment does create jobs.

There are MILLIONS of middle class families making between 50K and 100K that don't owe federal income taxes.

This is exactly what I'm saying that just has had me shaking my head in disbelief over the past couple days. I am sure this is true because I was very close to being in this situation 15 years ago. It has nothing to do with being lazy, or feeling like a victim, or feeling like the government owes you anything. Many times it doesn't even have anything to do with falling on hard times. When this was me, I was paying a mortgage on my first home and the interest deduction is what put me near the zero level at federal income taxes and because I had two children with child income tax credits, I was actually below the zero level for state taxes for 4 years. Its just a a mathematical equation that the tax code puts you in. If Romney doesn't know how the tax code works, then he is not fit for the Presidency.

Here is how it works:

If you don't pay taxes you're lazy. If you're rich and you don't pay taxes you're creating jobs.

If you need to use your means tested benefits, of any kind, you're a leech, sucking off on the rest of us. If you're a slacker who doesn't get health insurance and leaves your medical bills for the rest of us to pay, you're a patriot, standing up against Obamacare.

If you want to understand Miami Beach Style politics, you need to start learning how they think!!!
