Report your findings.

I want to count everything (total taxes owed) vs total income. If "Gegel" is not self-employed, his self-employment tax will be zero.

Gegel is self-employed but draws a salary like everyone else in the company... I'm part of the 0.01%...

Nope. I pay 4.2%+1.45% in FICA on my salary and end up paying roughly 9% worth of federal income taxes. Next year, my taxes will go up 2% once the payroll tax holiday expires. This is all on a low 6 figure income which already has me pay a higher tax rate than Mitt and that gap is bound to increase next year when I will pay more than 17% vs. Mitt's less than 14%.

If I'd factor in the regressive state and local taxes, my relative tax burden will easily be double that of Mitt.

Well Newt Gingrich's effective rate is around 30% on a low 7 figure income - imagine how pissed off he must be. He actually earns his income.

That's the issue I have. Earned income should not be taxed higher than non-earned income.
