A buddy of mine who worked in Kuwait three years dated an Indonesian there. They basically lived together for three years on weekends. So the job played out and he had to come home. So of course now she and him also want to go ahead and get a K 1. However she was married to an Egyptian had a son with him. Five years ago he went back to Egypt with the son. They never got legally divorced. She goes to the ministry to file the papers and they have to have his(guy she is still married to) Kuwati civil id which she doesnt know. So he(my friend) cant file for K1 as she is still married. Hasnt seen this guy in 5 years. Of course he has another wife.

Any idea how this young lady gets out of this marriage when the Kuwaitis wont cooperate. Obviously for K1 she cant still be married. She said well I go home to Indonesia and I am single there. Dont believe thats true.

Divorce in Indonesia?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

She needs to be free to marry, in Indonesia and the rest of the world.

**Moved form K1 to MENA forum as maybe folks from that area can provide more information about divorce in Kuwait.

Sounds like your "friend" should consider the circumstances of this relationship pretty seriously. If she is already trying to be dishonest in the application process, then I hate to say it but I smell a "fraud" coming on.

Its not about the "Kuwaitis not cooperating," its about a married woman not committing bigamy in the US. Quite simply, the woman needs to get a legal divorce in the country she married.
