OMG someone please help me :(

hello everyone

so i just called the nvc and gvae them my info so i can check my case status and this is the first time i do that they told me that i still have to do the 1-864 and ds-260 or something im not sure i forgot but i already did that and i am sure and we mailed it to them on July first . i also wanna tel you that i have a lawyer and he was telling us what to do step by step and he said this was almost the final one and that we are waiting for the interview BUT WHAT IS HAPPENING do you think that the nvc is wrong or is it the lawyer ??? the also mentioned that i might have done something with the immigration or something idk i was like about to cry i did not rly understand him well so can some one pleaaseee give me an explanation ! did this happen to any of you b4 pleashelp me i am about to get a heart attack because i was not worried about it because the lawyer said it will be 6-8 weeks and then they will tell us something and it has been 10+ weeks

i am probably not making any since now but i rly need ur help so i can sleep tonight :(

If you are using a lawyer, then have the attorney explain what is going on to you. That is what you are paying for.

Be sure to give the attorney all the information, not just some bits and pieces. Without the complete info, it is difficult to know what is going on.

i am petitioning for my husband to come to USA as an immigrant and become a us citizen. and when i mail the lawyer he says that everything is OK and that we are waiting for the interview date but i am shocked now what is going on.

Yes u need to talk to your lawyer someone is not being truthful here. When did you pay your I-864 Bill ($88) and DS-230 Bill ($230) online (u would have logged on using your case# and invoice number).

ASk your lawyer when was the AOS (I-864) sent in and when was the DS-230(IV BIll) sent in.

So u gave lawyer your Police Report, Birth certificate, marriage license, biographical pages of passport, passport pics? when was this done?

yes i sent him all of that he asked for it and we had to o thru so much truble to get them from Syria and i filled the forms and payed the bills and sent them to hem and he said that he would tae care of it or something idk this is the first time i try to know what is going on and i am so scared do you think that i am wrong ? maybe it doesn't have to do with the nvc maybe its something with the immigration or something !! i sent all of that to him on july 1st

And you used the barcoded cover pages printed from the payment portal and sent to the correct place? Now did you send in both packages or did you send all documents to lawyer to send in.

Even if there was something wrong NVC would have record that they recieved your information. This isn't the first time I have read such things where lawyers or third party people did not send in needed info. I hope you will be calling your lawyer if not already and demanding what is going on. They should have had a delivery receiot (proof they sent it). Demand that if they are a real professional lawyer they would have one. You need to be asking them questions.

Well dear u say he said that but NVC doesn't have you in system. You need to ask him. When was the last time you asked him. And are you sure you have gone to payment portal everything says PAID.

you need to:

1. Ask lawyer "when did you send in our I-864 and IV Bill packets.

2. When did we get Case Complete from NVC

3. Why does NVC not have any record they have received anything.

This will let him know you are checking on his work. Look you paid him why aren't you making him earn what you paid. Iyt doesn't really matter what he said he did.NVC doesn't have what he said he sent. You need to make some phone calls and stop assuming your lawyer is honest. He has some explaining and some proof to show you. Most of us have "delivery confirmation" notices when we mailed our packages to NVC If he is a good professional lawyer he would have done the same.

Make him show you proof he sent it. Don't accept anything else. You oaid for the service. Man I would be in his office he wouldn't be able to move with me on his butt no way. This is your life your future he is messin with. Now I am mad for you.

hmmm that seems weird he would tell you "the lawyer said that he mailed them to nvc and that we should wait 6-8 weeks now then they will tell us our interview date". Because first NVC has to go through your documents and they accept them. Then they will Case complete you. That all is usually about 2 weeks. Than you wait it could be up to 2 months depending on your Embassy.

My gut tells me since NVC has no record of your AOS or IV BILL he didn't send it in. You need him to show you proof he did like I said. You are wasting time not contacting him. Whatever he says will determine your next move. If he swears he sent and can prove it. Than you need to call NVC and ask for a supervisor not the operator who answers the phone but you need a supervisor. Than I would fire the lawyer...Just saying because he should be on top of this. Lawyers don't call NVC so they don't know whats up. For this to be sitting all ths while and nothing happeneing is inexcusable to me.

Call him and get your answers than act accordingly. Than run back and tell it. I am fascinated by this. I would come to your town and pay him a visit myself. u know us VJ peeps have to stick together. I got your back.
