Now, before you read this, I do not want to come off as ungrateful. I don't want people to mistake that. But today I recieved, in the mail, confirmation that the NVC has recieved my APPROVED I-129F petition. It is dated September 11,2012. Now, if you look at my timeless.... it doesn't have an NOA2 date. Until the moment I got the mail from NVC, I did not have a clue that I was approved. www.uscis.gov was not current, nor did the operator I spoke to on 9/13, when I filed a service request, see it as approved.... What in the world is going on at VSC???

I'm not being ungrateful. I'm so happy to finally have notice of SOMETHING. But... more than likely, my petition has been approved 1.5-2 weeks, and I had no clue. Why was I subjected to more worrying and wondering when, when that wasn't even necessary? I don't know. But what I do know, is that I'm happy to finally know something.

I can understand the website not being 100% accurate. I can even understand not getting my NOA2 in the mail yet, nor a text or email. What I don't get is why someone with USCIS, when I called, didn't know anything..?

I'm hoping this doesn't give anyone false hope or make them panic thinking they may already be approved, but this was just something I felt everyone else, who's going thru K-1 process, might like to know.

 CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

If I were you I would be making sure that they sent you a Form I-797 (NOA2). You will need a copy of that form later on in the AOS process.

Also, consider buying some lucky lottery numbers!!!! :star:

Good luck on your visa journey.

Sheesh! Stuff like this comes up on VJ a lot. The website is good for some, but far from perfect. Anyway, take a deep breath and enjoy the relief of being approved. Congrats!

Oh, and I agree with the others about getting the hard copy of the NOA2. If you were approved on September 11th, you will hopefully get it soon. If not, follow up with the USCIS.

Make sure you keep your NOA2 safe. You will need to submit a copy later in the future after the two of you are together. If you don't have one I heard you will have to pay around $400 for a new copy.

Hullo to the OP.

You need the NOA-2 for later stuff.

Since you don't have it, you need to chase it down.

The ONLY way to do that, is to call into USCIS National Hotline, ask the 'someone' that answers the phone

to transfer you to an ISO, that you have to go over returned mail pieces.

Be adamant, until you are transferred.

The 'someone' that answers the phone cannot assist you.

once you get an ISO, though - be nice, gentle and sweet, asking about casefile status and asking the ISO to check if there are any 'returned mail pieces' on you.

If there are returned mail pieces, ask that the returned mail pieces be sent out again; carefully go over the postal address with the ISO.

Your collection of 'someones', I pray you've learned by now, are useless.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I understand your frustration, but someone did not updated the system, therefore the person you spoke with did not know. It is nothing you can do about, just enjoy one day at a time, the best advice I can give you, look at the positive side, it will help you.

Kind regards,

Self imposed. Let me guess, you bought into the VJ timeline frenzy?

They will let you know when they get your petition and approve your petition.

Congrats.
