Filing during all the mess

My fiance lives in Egypt is this mess going on in Libya and Egypt going to hurt us on filing??:(

Hard to say for now. It would certainly have an impact on the efficiency of the process when consulates are under threat, but you have quite a while before your case would even be forwarded to the consulate. Though this isn't political or terrorism, the embassy in Manila, Philippines was closed for several days due to severe typhoon flooding. A number of unforeseen things can happen as they are happening now, but it shouldn't have any impact on the initial petition approval. Your petition gets sent to the same places as everyone else. Nobody can tell what the reality will be like 5-7 months from now. You have at least that amount of time to wait for any developments on your petition status.

Ok thanks!! Now im scared for my fiance to even go to the us embassy in cairo :(

he will still have to go to the interview at the embassy in cairo?

Under normal circumstances, yes, but like I said, nobody can tell you what is going to be happening in world affairs 5-7 months from now. Don't worry. Worry isn't going to do anything for you. The US embassy isn't going to knowingly put his life in jeopardy when their lives are in jeopardy. All you can do is wait on developments. The US doesn't sit back and just let these kind of things escalate.

Probably will cause delays. You can always wait until there is "no mess" in Egypt and then file. That will cause a delay also, probably longer just waiting for there to be "no mess" since it has been something like 3000 years since the last time there was "no mess"

Yeah, I would just go ahead and file now and not wait. The process is so long already - and this turmoil will surely blow over in a few months, even a few weeks. The first few months for a fiance visa are all in the US, so that shouldn't affect things. And he won't need go to the consulate until his interview - which is at least 6-8 months away from the time you first file. You'll be more than fine I am sure. Good luck!
