Finally was able to mail out the I130 application package on friday and it was received today. I guess will get NOA1 end of this week or sometime next week.

I have been ready many topics on this forum and I am literally praying that we get sent to CSV for processing as it seems VSC is considerably longer( like this crazy process isnt long enough anyway)

Hopefully will be able to occupy my mind as much as possible these next 6 or more months waiting to go thru it all to bring my new wife here from Colombia

Just recommending two places that can help you out while you wait for your NOA2. The Colombia Club thread which has a ton of information given by previous members who went through the US embassy in Bogotá.

The other thread is the EZGuideSpouse where you will find all the shortcuts you will need when your approved petition reaches the NVC for processing before the interview in Colombia.

Wow Colombia takes that long? Why does it take that long compare to other places?

Be patient, because this process to Colombia takes at least one year.

Thanks I had seen the ez guide thread but not the colombia thread. I will check that out for sure

The whole process can take between 6-12 months depending on the service center, the amount of petitions they're getting at the same time as yours, whether you receive an RFE and your ability to pay all fees at the NVC and send the documents they request. That's why reading the EZGuideSpouse helps out so much, it helps you get ready for the NVC stage of the process so you can breeze right through it.

In all honesty, on average, most people who have gone through the US Embassy in Bogotá have gone through the entire process within nine months or so.

Yeah I have been trying to read as much as I can to make sure I do everything correctly. I figure a few extra hours of reading is better than delays of weeks or months because I missed something :)

I am hoping it will be 6 months or less.. but prepared that it could be months longer than that

I am sure I will lose my mind if we have to wait an entire year. I have gone to visit my wife twice this year ( last time in August for our marriage and honeymoon) but she does not live in Bogota and the Airfare is not cheap. I had thought to go back and Christmas to try to break up the time apart but its just too expensive :(

Took pretty much exactly a year for us going through CSC. Started the process on 9/20/2011. Visa should arrive in a couple days but we still do not have a DHL Waybill number.
