We got the interview email and it says that my husband (beneficiary) needs to bring with him the most recent Federal Income Tax Return. I will need to send it to him since we are not in the same country. I was wondering if I can just copy the Tax Return instead of sending him the original. What do you guys think the original or copies?

ROC Timeline:

August 22, 2014: Sent I-751

August 25, 2014: NOA1 received

September 5, 2014: Received Biometrics Appointment Letter

September 19, 2014: Biometrics Appointment

Order Tax Transcripts from the IRS and send copies of that. If you look in the instructions for most applications there is a sections that has the title COPIES and it will tell you that legible copies are required unless originals are specifically asked for. If you should send in an original when not asked for you will not get it back and it will become part of your file.

Tax Transcripts are what you actually filed with the IRS and are much better than just a copy of the 1040 form. If you do make copies of the 1040, maker certain it is signed and dated.

Since I'm going to send him copies of the 1040 form with the signature and all can I just email them to him and he can print them out? So I won't need to send them by regular mail?
