13 Powerful Images of Muslim Rage

"MUSLIM RAGE," screams Newsweek's new cover story about last week's violent anti-American protests. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, the well-known anti-Islam activist, is here to tell "us" (The_West) how to "end it." And it's true, isn't it? All Muslims are constantly raging about everything. So to pay tribute to Ali's article — which describes the protesters as "the mainstream of contemporary Islam" — and the subtle, smart cover that accompanies it, we've collected 13 striking, powerful images of MUSLIM RAGE.

What are Muslims so mad about? Twitter ("Want to discuss our latest cover? Let's hear it with the hashtag: #MuslimRage," Newsweek begs us) has some answers:

Indeed, as everyone knows, Muslims, and especially Arab Muslims, have no lives, feelings or thoughts external to constant, violent rage, directed at old white people living in the Midwest (due to their freedoms). Sure, only a few thousand people out of populations of millions turned out to protest this goofy anti-Muhammad movie from YouTube, and sure, there was loud outcry against the violence across the Muslim world. But have you seen this photo? Those guys are mad.

It's hard to find a better image than the one on the Newsweek cover to really communicate how rage-filled Muslims constantly are, but we've found a few that will strike a chill into your heart:

Check out these violent, angry Egyptians:

So I guess I should ask.. Are we claiming here that the problem does not exist or are we just openly pretending it does not exist? Most everybody knows that 99% of Muslims are not the problem (there is always of course that vocal minority right?).. its that pesky other 1% that is the problem and these pictures have nothing to do with them.. What is to be done about that top fringe group that is controlling the spotlight, effecting laws, etc.. and are totally out of touch with reality?

The problem is real - this post and title implies the problem is all perception.. It is not. Drinking the kool-aid and singing koom-bye-ah with your head in the sand and pretending there is not a problem will not fix it.

... and no I don't expect any reasonable replies.

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

The point of the thread is that it's blown out of proportion, and, it is.

1 question: What is going on in the second picture? Is this midget hurdles? Because that would be awesome.

As to the topic of the thread:

You could call it "rage of some people who live in countries where the dominant and often state religion is Islam," but that is somewhat wordy as opposed to "Muslim rage." Imagine I get a ticket from a traffic camera running a red light and my defense is to take a picture of myself in my car and say, "Look, I'm not running a red light." It would be ludicrous and so is the idea of this thread.

Whether or not "Muslim rage" has been "blown out of proportion" is subjective, but the fact is that groups of people in dozens of countries are breaking things and killing people. You can believe that this is because of a cheap YouTube video that hardly anyone had heard of until people started dying because of it and it really is that easy to offend Muslims (there have definitely been movies offensive to Christians, Jews, or other religions but that hasn't led to widespread looting and killing in the recent past). Or you can believe that a powerful conspiracy, in many cases complicit with civil and religious authorities (which are themselves not always distinct in these cases), has used this as a pretext to conduct a multinational attack on targets which it chooses. Call it what you will, but midget hurdles doesn't mean it didn't happen.
