Question: why is it taking awhile? Submitted all legal document 5 mons ago. Still waiting

Hi guys,

Just posting this for help.

My husband and I have already submitted the following to USCIS:

Legal documents (birth cert, marriage cert, police clearance)

Photos

Photocopy of passport

DS230 form (part 1&2)

AOS documents

Visa notification cover letter

According to NVC, they have received all these last April 10, 2012. We have yet to be notified for the interview or medical.

We contacted their care number and had been informed that we arent missing any documents.

Would you guys have any idea why its taking so long? My husband and I are getting paranoid on why its been 5 months already and we're still waiting. :(

It normally take about 5 to 7 months. you will be fine. It took me about same amount of time. good luck

5-7 months from NVC? I don't think so, not for US citizen's families at least

OP: is the petitioner a greencard holder or US citizen? When did the petitioner first file (not send stuff to NVC, but send the I-130 to USCIS)?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
