I don't see why you worried about it so much if you already have so many evidences.

You know lots of people got their green card even they didn't have a wedding right?

The whole idea is to show that you are real couple.

I know you are very happy with your beautiful wedding, but it doesn't mean a lot to the USCIS people.

So collect all the evidence you have and includes some wedding pictures, you are good to go.

You've got more evidence than me and I am now a citizen for 3 years. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. As some posters have said, fake and expensive elaborate weddings do exists. I remember I was in a chatroom and I was offered $50k for a fake marriage. I wasn't even American! Some people are desperate. We had 9 people in our wedding including us. I only sent 3 pictures. At the time people advised that wedding pictures or pictures in general are not as important as financial documents because lots of fake relationships send pictures as proof so most of the evidence I sent were financial related. For example, title to the car with both our names, joint bank accounts , health insurance cards, driver's license showing the same address. I didn't even have affidavit from friends attesting that we have a real marriage. I figured I'll just bring those during the interview. However, I was approved for AOS without interview so I didn't have to add more.

We have both of our names on the main checking account all of the bills are paid from monthly bank statements are abotu 10 pages long about of how much it is being used.

I am beneficiary on his life insurance he is on mine.

Car insurance on both names.

Drivers licenses showing same address.

We've been married for only a month so my name not on the deed yet but it will be.

Other than that we have records of our many trips together that were very expansive over the coarse of 2 years with pictures.

Pictures of holidays spent with family over 2 years.

Wedding and pictures.

Just been wondering,

Me and my husband recently had a beautiful, traditional wedding. We had 60 guests (all from my husbands side) and were streaming life ceremony to my parents. We had it all a religious ceremony 12 people wedding party and a lovely, fun reception with DJ,sit down meal and photographer. We wanted a wedding for ourselfs to have a special day and memory for the rest of our lives. As now we are filling our documents for green card I am wondering will pictures from our beautiful wedding and some documents from booking vendors will help to prove the bon a fide marriage? What value do wedding have to an immigration officer. I am not talking about cheesy pictures of bride and groom but the professional pictures of ceremony, guests, church, wedding party.I dont think you would be able to make something like this up and making 10 guys renting tax for the sake of fake wedding. What do you think?

P.S Of course we will have other documents to present.

Yes, of course! The wedding will help, no question about that. It definitely will.

But how?

It will prove without a shadow of doubt that you were both physically present at the marriage ceremony. Period. Nothing else. That's it.

USCIS doesn't care whether President Bill Clinton officiated at your wedding or whether you had 1, 10, or ten million guests in tuxs and flowing evening gowns, or whether you hosted your reception at the Waldorf Astoria or at the local McDonalds. Irrelevant to them.

They don't care if you spent $17.00 or $17,000,000.00 for the ceremony.

Believe you me, there are countless folks out there who would outspent you by a ratio of 1 to 1,000 (and that is being conservative) if they could get a GC, in a fake marriage, to boot.

Include 2 or 3 of the wedding photographs in your initial application. You SHOULD also take your wedding album for your GC interview, as one of your various collections of documents/proof. However, you will be surprised to see the IO flip through the album with total disinterest and give it back to you in about 17 seconds.

I'd bring it! Can't hurt. And yeah, I think there must be a bit more validity to a wedding with friends & family, than eloping at a courthouse. Not that one is more "legit" than the other, but if I was getting married for the green card rather than for love, I'd tend to go for the courthouse wedding & not have my family involved.

Well lets not get carried away here with Bill Clinton and Waldorf Astoria. Its is very silly making such statements. If someone has so much money to blow on wedding along to fake it I am sure they will find a money to put in checking account on both names and get an appartment lease. All those financial documents are easy to fake if you have money. Investing into your wedding not only means financial responsibility but also shows how many people involved. If someone wants to fake it I dont see a problem of having insurance on both name and same adress it doesnt even involve people or family.

Post above is sill! I do NOT mean I will take a few wedding pictures and it will be IT! But dah you think if people can involve 100 people and thousands of dollars into FAKE wedding they wont fake bank statements. I heard people are willing to have children just to get GC. However it is a still a proof.

Please dont be silly . Or what do you think just bring bank statment and insurance on both name without a single picture nothing else will do the trick?

And please people I DID not ask your advice so you mock me!!!!

I think you are getting these responses because some feel that you think your marriage is more legitimate because 1) You preferred a larger wedding and 2) You could afford a larger wedding. Legitimate couples make different choices. I hate large weddings (for myself...respect the choices of others..) and as such, we chose to have a very small one. It's not a measure of legitimacy for me, and the take-home point is that isn't not a measure of legitimacy for the USCIS, either. Bring a few photos of your wedding as part of your entire package of proof.

So how is it diffrent from anything else? Some people dont have joint account or car in both names or they dont wear rings does it make they less of a legit couple? But that it what USCIS wants to see. I did not mean if you dont have a wedding or have small you are not legit couple. I just meant that it might show how important it was to US to have my whole husbands family at the wedding. We had family travel from all the states to come to our wedding.

Anyways I dont understand why everyone took it so personal!

I dont understand why people became rude to me for the fact I had a wedding. The only reason I described the wedding not to brag but explain it was american traditional wedding.

I has nothing to do with any one else's choices all I was asking is about USCIS!No need to take it personal or be rude!

Ive been married for a month and I guess for me and my husband our wedding was our biggest accomplishment as it was stunning and special. But I guess it is nto a big deal after all.

The big and expensive wedding might not be a big deal to USCIS but it is to you and your husband's family. You didn't ask your husband's family to go to your wedding even if they're out of state just to show USCIS that your wedding is more legitimate than others. It shouldn't make any difference what people over here say. You'll have more positive responses if you post about your wedding in your Facebook account than over here.

Include 2 or 3 of the wedding photographs in your initial application. You SHOULD also take your wedding album for your GC interview, as one of your various collections of documents/proof. However, you will be surprised to see the IO flip through the album with total disinterest and give it back to you in about 17 seconds.

It sounds like somebody who's been to the AOS interview and had first hand experience about showing wedding pictures. Doesn't seem to be someone who's mocking the OP.

Oh i am sure you can fake a wedding or something small people pose for.But if you have a pictures of many guests in church ,12 people of wedding party dressed in tuxidos and bridesmaids in same gowns etc.

I guess after having gone through wedding planing and stress I have no idea how you can fake a big, nice wedding for the pictures.

Ive been married for a month and I guess for me and my husband our wedding was our biggest accomplishment as it was stunning and special. But I guess it is nto a big deal after all.

It sounds like you had a beautiful wedding and a history of already having a beautiful life together for quite some time. It sounds like you already have a lot to document your lives together. Doesnt seem like you will have a problem. My wife and I did not have that luxury. We spent a total of only 10 days together face to face and we were married at City Hall in the Philippines. So you are really blessed.

I did everything I could to make sure we followed the guidelines posted above of what USCIS says demonstrates proof of a legitimate relationship. We had no problem whatsoever with immigration, and I am 14 years older than she is too.

Congratulations to both of you on your shared happiness.

Thank you so much!

I guess people thinking I am braging here about my wedding! And I do not! I did not have big or expencive wedding. It was 60 people and it was nice. All of us here talking about EVIDENCE to the USCIs and in this case everything you have I though is good.

It is extremely heartbreaking to me and my husband that I we have to go through everything we have as evidence of our relationships to prove something to someone so we can be together. I know many of you guys here feel the same. It is sad but it is an immigration reality.

Please I do not need more input on this since I see it creates frustration in readers!

I guess having a wedding and all family there is not evidence for USCIS!
