I-130 & K3 help?

Hey y'all!

My wife filed the I-130 end of July. USCIS received and registered it on July 30th. She received receipt 2 weeks later, and then filed K3. Then to get an idea of how long it might be till we would receive the NOA2 we started researching and quickly found others debating how the K3 has become unnecessary, because the wait supposedly exceeds the I-130. I looked at the USCIS waits for Texas Service center where our K3 is being processed and the processing time is 15,2 months, while our I-130 which is being processed in Vermont shows a wait time of 5 months.

What we would like to know is, which Visa we should count on, what we can do to prepare ourself best possible and if there is anything we can do to make the process easier.

Any good advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank y'all!!

NVC will close the I129F, as it has been doing for years. So prepare yourself for the cheaper and superior Cr-1 visa

Okay thank you for clearing that for me! Will they turn it into a CR-1 visa, or will my wife have to file it?

It doesn't turn into anything

You will be put on the Cr-1 path and the visa will be applied for at the interview
