Hi

Does anybody know or heard of-can you file K-1 visa if you are waiting for a immigration visa as a family member of US citizen ( permanent resident)?

I am 34, not married and do not know if I'll be able to apply for K-1 visa if your mother had applied for you as a family member of permanent resident( she will be a citizen in a year)

Thank You for your replies!

Not exactly sure what you are asking, but only a US citizen can submit a petition for a K-1 visa. If you are a permanent resident then you will have to wait until you become a citizen.

Are you asking if you can be petitioned in K-1 process, while already being petitioned by your mother who is a permanent resident?

Yes, you can.

Thank you. That is what I ment. She applied for me as relative and as I am waiting 5 years or more for my case in line, I might meet a US citizen girl who will apply for K-1 VISA

If the K1 gets issued, the other visa process stops, as you can only have one visa at the time. But until you are successful, you cna have two processes going so that if the K1 doesn;t work out, the family visa is still in process.
