Typewritten Letter of Intent Correction

Just when I thought we got everything in order already, sent and he received all docs with still a lot of time to kill. Something's telling me to check my updated and signed Letter of Intent, BOOM! See the problem with typewritten letter is that you'll tend to miss a word.

So my dilemma now is that (which I'm hoping that the CO at the USEM will overlook and miss it ) is that I've signed a letter that says:

I, Cristina, do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry Mike, and intend to do so within 90 days of my arrival into the US using the K-1 visa. :bonk:

Now, could he just use a white-out and write over it with his since it's not a certified copy or public docs that we can't alter any part of it? We still have a lot of time before his interview day and if I make another one and mail it (even with the snail-mail)on Monday, it will still make it on time.

How long a time do you have? You can mail a new one with LBC which he could get under two weeks.

Also if the CO sees the error then he can say that a new one is on its way and should arrive shortly.

I see your interview is October 25. I won't alter it and send the updated one now so that it would arrive on time.

oh, is trifold sheet ok to present to CO? All docs I've sent were on a document envelopes so they're all flat but this one i'll use the regular long envelope and i have to fold it.

For the most part(depending on the embassy), a new, updated letter of intent is needed from the US citizen to demonstrate the intentions of still wishing to marry. My embassy didn't want it, however my husband had made one just to be on the safe side.

The beneficiary has to sign the 156k(I think it is) in front of the interviewing officer at the embassy, and when you read the form(at least the bottom part), that's the beneficiary's sworn statement that he/she will marry the original petitioner.

i think this just means that you need to have enough proof that there is an intent to marry each other, but not necessarily the letter of intent. i just finished my interview and this was not requested from me.

i didn't bring any letter of intent during my interview. our letters of intent to marry where included in our petition packet. also, this was not requested from me during my interview today, but it wouldn't hurt if you want to bring one.
