I had my interview in London yesterday and we were approved smile.png not an altogether smooth day - forgot about the phone charger in my bag so was subsequently thrown out at security and had to queue again having dumped the charger in a bush. The ticket with my number on it stated that I arrived in the hall at 9.21am and I finally left at 1.05pm. So much for their "you can expect to be at the embassy for 2-3 hours"!! But I'm not complaining because I'm moving to the states in 10 days!!! Wooohoooo

Sorry to hear it took so long for you at the embassy. I was out in 1h 10 mins. And I also got the visa...it's such a wonderful feeling to have it in my hands! :D

I will be leaving around middle July, haven't booked the tickets yet.

Congrats to you for your approval and to those who are already in the US with their fiance's. Can't wait to see my fiance again, haven't seen him in 8 months!!!huh.png

You're lucky! The food here is so different from what I'm used with. After almost one month here, I'm still adjusting to the food.

I tried making some Romanian specialities as well, but they don't taste the same :(

Yes, it is totally different, I know. I was shocked when I was here for the first time 3 years ago. However, this time my body didn`t say no to food here. I was experimenting with Hungarian meals too, my pancakes turned out good only for the second try. (Can`t wait to have my own kitchen-we live with mother-in-law for now).

I'm cooking a lot of brazilian food, but eating american's as well!

Back in 2009, when I was here for the first time almost everything had horrible taste. Now, I like pretty everything that is NOS spice!

We're sending the AOS package within this next week and I can't wait to start working. We want to have a big religous cerimony and party in Brazil as soon as we have enough money... So I NEED to work!

We're happy! :)

Hey,

Same here: 7-10 days until the EAD. I can't wait either, checking my case status several times a day. Hope it will come soon.

What shows do you watch?

Have you watched the Orange is the new black? I think that is a Netflix one, but I am not sure. It's great!

Oh and we moved to a new apartment and now I bake and cook :)

Haha congrats! I tried orange is the new black but wasn't a fan - I've watched the entire series of lost, scandal, once upon a time...!

We're so close to getting the EAD - but here is something I just read on the BBC website about the government shutdown:

"Under the shutdown, national parks and Washington's Smithsonian museums will close, pension and veterans' benefit cheques will be delayed, and visa and passport applications will go unprocessed"

I don't know about you, but I can't afford to be delayed! I think this puts us at least 2/3 weeks behind schedule...hope they sort it out soon :(
