hey all. in form i-864 it asks the sponsor to list all spouses and children immigrating with the immigrant. this number is then totalled up to determine household size. however should my wife and son be listed even though they are u.s citizens? if they arent listed then family size would be just me and my wife. my brother in law is our joint sponsor and we are stuck on this question. check the example forms link on this site to see what i mean. thanks for any reply

You need to remember that the I-864 is used for other petitions besides family based ones. So try to put the word 'spouse' and 'child' aside and calculate the family size from the perspective of your particular immigration portal.

Look carefully at how the instructions are worded.

You typed the answer right into your question....

Also the I-864 example shown on VJ at the moment is not the most recent form that you should be using. Go to USCIS.com for the most current affidavit.
