Hello everyone,

I got my 10yr GC approval letter today! yahoo!

I've been waiting for this approval so I can start to prepare for my mom's tourist visa requirements.

My Mom is a head nurse at government hospital. She is 54 years old. She owned several properties like apartments and 3 houses. We've been to Singapore for 5times, Malaysia, Singapore, Macau, China and Hong Kong. I always pay her travel expenses. I don't know how much is her salary, she always tell me that she doesn't have money at the bank and she has several loans.

OK, so since she doesn't have money at the bank, I'm planning to send her atleast Php. 150K ($3740)for her show money. Then try to apply for a visa after 2months. We will still send her an invitation letter stating that we will pay for all her expenses when she is here in the US.

Do you think my Mom has chance to get a tourist visa? My tourist visa was denied previously and I don't want to happen it to my Mom.

Thank y'all in advance!

1)Whether or not you were approved for your greencard, your mother didn't have to wait too apply for a visiting visa. Why? Because you have nothing to do with her B1/B2 application even if you were President Obama, Queen Elizabeth or King Tut.

2)What your mother owned in the past doesn't matter only the present and that's IF the consular officer asks.

3)Your mother's travel history to anywhere but the US may come up IF the CO asks.

4)Her pay may not come up but that depends on if the CO thinks it will help him decide.

5)Transferring large sums of money less than 6 months before the interview will tell the CO she's trying to trick him. The only time large sums of money being placed in an account less than 6 months before an interview isn't weird is if said account is the one thee visa applicant gets his pay deposited.

5)Invitation letters hold as much weight as a wet tissue. Millions have been and will be approved without one.

6)Insinuating that your mother's foreign family will foot your mom's vacation bill could backfire. But I don't think it will. Someone else may come by ands correct me.

7)I think the figure of Filipinos being approved is 77%. Nobody here can say who will get a visa or not so the potential applicant just has to apply.
