Hubby is the petitioner for his mother. We are getting ready to submit the 1-864. I am filling out the application and now I have doubts. He doesn't make enough to the income requirements, but I do on my own and of course we do together. Am I a co-sponser or a joint-sponsor? I have to fill out the 1-864a correct? I don't understand how to answer Part 3 question 8. Yes or No

He fills out the I-864 and you fill out the I-864A as a household member. That will allow you to combine incomes to reach the income requirement. He would answer Yes to #8. He is the petitioner/sponsor for her, so he checks a. for part 1. His mother's info would be in part 2.

Be sure and read the instructions for both the I-864 and I-864A.

She cannot sponsor alone. The petitioner is always the primary sponsor. She stated in her first sentence that would be her husband.
