Hey guys,

Just thought to share my experience about cheaper flight for India. Recently I found an awesome site, so thought to share with you guys! Thought it may be helpful. I have done booking in last few yrs with cheaptickets, orbitz, makemytrip, etc etc.

Just booked my ticket for India, here is the price that I saw with diff sites for my selected dates:

United.com - $1,793.18

Makemytrip - $1,773

cheapoair - $1,808.13

Amex Travel - $1,804.17

orbitz - $1,793.18

expedia - $1,793.13

Hotwire - $1,793 18

indianeagle - $1,657.13 ( over the phone price )as online price on their site is $20-30 expensive.

Best experience with IndianEagle and best price I ever could compare anywhere. Plus the best thing was that they used my amex card with united airlines directly, so I could get 3x points rather than 1 point if I used with some agent. Plus I was able to use my United frequent flyer card number, so I can earn rewards for this booking.

Please note, above price comparison for exact date/exact time/exact stop flight only.

I am neither affiliate nor marker of this site. I just found it and saw awesome price, so thought to share with you guys.

Please give a try, and see whether it saves your money! If you guys know some other awesome sites, then share it in this thread.

Thank you!

your numbers don't help anyone to judge without knowing exact travel dates (outbound/inbound) and departure/arrival airports.

FYI, No travel agents/online seller has rights to block their customers to get frequent flier miles and most of the reputed airlines I have traveled gives from 70% to 100% of your actual miles in economy ticket.

Due to privacy reason, I didnt disclose the travel dates in public forum. But I will take an example here, and hope it helps.

Flight for India ( EWR - DEL )

Departure: Dec 5, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Return: Dec 12, 2012 at 11:35 pm

Type: Economy, Non-stop

Airline: United

Please note, below all prices are taken at 8:15 am EST ( Sep 14 ) to ensure the accuracy for fare.

United.com - $1,755.18

Hotwire - $1,755 18

Orbitz - $1,755.18

Priceline - $1755.18

Expedia - $1,755.13

Webjet - $1755.13

Cheapfareguru - $1671

IndianEagle - $1672 ( online price )

Seems like that cheapfareguru/indianeagle have very good fare. But if you speak with real guy from IndianEagle, then they will give better discount than their online price. I mean $20-30 or even more.

Plus I like IndianEagle, because they used my card to buy the ticket directly with airline, and my card had charged for United Airline Inc, and I will get 3x points on my amex card rather than 1x point if used for orbitz/expedia/any online/offline travel agent.

As far as concerned frequently flyer miles: Last time when I booked my ticket with travelocity and my card was charged for Travelocity. I provided my JetAirlines ff number at the time of online booking, and they credited all miles in my jetairways ff account ( exactly what they said at the time of booking ).

And this time when I booked my ticket with IndianEagle guys, they used my United FF number, and when I login my united account using my ff number/PIN, I can see my booking, and miles that they would award me after completing the travel.

Of course, I heard, some agents do air ticket and dont have an option to provide ff miles.

Overall, IndianEagle seems great deal to me. Great price, charge card with airline directly ( so extra miles on cc ), and airlines miles. Awesome deal.

Next time, I will try cheapfareguru, if they could be better than IndianEagle.

Thank you!
