Ok, I called the hubby between classes today and this is the information I got. He had to pay the 12,000 at the bank, which he said is 2 blocks down and easy to trek to. The other 9,000 was paid cash at the clinic. He got everything done today, and he was told to come back on Wednesday to pick up the report.

He needed his passport and a copy of the biographic page and 2 passport photos. They didn't ask for the interview letter. He also didn't make an appointment he just showed up this morning and they did everything. =) Hope this helps everyone!! Good Luck!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I texted the hubby last night and put all you have posted in his phone. Now, if he follows directions and gets his behind down to there, we are good to go!

Since many are getting ready for flights as well. I'm going to start a forum on that. Post who you're flying with, cost and how you plan to get home together (or apart)! The questions going to come up very quickly so we might as well start it for our October Interviewee Flights.

This just in from Ginie,

Her husband Kayode went to his medical on Monday and you saw her post previous about that experience. She wrote tonight that she is heavily bogged down with tests and studies until Friday. So I told her I would post what she sent IM'd to me:

Here is her message:

"i wanted to tell you my husband passed the medical and he also wanted me to tell everyone that it may depend on the immunization price on which ones you need....he said some needed 7, he only needed 2! They told him to come pick up the results today and he showed up early and they told him to come back at 4 pm....not sure if that's the actual pickup time for everyone"

I'm not sure but I will ask Ginie and see if I can get an answer for you today. I'm still pretty sure that if you have had official immunizations and are able to supply a record of them during the Medical examination, you should not need any additional ones, or you would need very few. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Your Welcome! He said no he didn't take an vaccination record with him. He said that during the physical exam he was asked questions like, "Have you had chicken pox?" ect. Depending on your answers to those questions is how the doctor decided what vaccines you needed to have.

Everyone: He also said that 4pm was the time everyone picked theirs as well. He said there was a lot of denials that day. One guy had a positive test on his x-ray and a lady tested positive for an STD. Good Luck...hope all the info helps all of my fellow Nigerians with their medicals...

Thanks winnie, you are a star. Just a quick question..... Lets assume, after the interview, with the visa approved, are we given a specific date to enter the states? My dad will be 80 in November and we are planning a big party and i also have an exam to sit in Nigeria early December. My other half will be flying in, cos she shares the same Birthday date with my dad. We plan to fly back together after my dads Birthday celebration and and my exams. So, can we choose the date i can leave the country. Sorry its off topic.

Okay, today is Tuesday, September 25th, 2012.

My husband went for his medical this morning. He said he arrived about 8:30 and there was a line of people waiting. When it was his turn to be waited on, he was told to submit a copy of his biographic page, passport photo's and show his passport. They then instructed him to go to the bank and pay =N= 12,000. He said the bank was not very far from the facility and it did not take long inside the pay the fee. When he came back Children's, he submitted his receipt/printout (whatever the bank gave him) and he was told to have a seat until called.

When they first called him back they drew blood, took his blood pressure and other vitals. (His blood pressure was a little high, but the nurse told him it could have been due to anxiety or anticipation of the exam, it happens). He had a seat again.

Next, he was called for his chest x-ray then asked to be seated again. He said it was quite a wait, but was called again to pay the =N= 9,000. Again, asked to have a seat.

Eventually they called him upstairs where the doctor asked him a broad range of questions then examined him. After the examination, he received his vaccinations. The doctor told Divine he would need to see him again on Thursday for an EKG. He had to pay an additional =N= 10,000 for that appointment before he left Children's. So his second appointment is on Thursday at 3pm.

I don't think they have found anything wrong, I just believe they are checking him out further because he is in his 40's and its just mandatory for his age range. He paid those fees to day and the set him up an appointment for 3pm (yes, a scheduled appointment). If all is well with the EKG (and I believe it will be) he will receive his packet at or after 4pm the same day.

The entire exam took about 6 - 1/2 hours.

He said the people were extremely nice and very accommodating during his visit. One of the nurses asked him if he was positively sure he loved his wife and chatted with him. He said she is also married to a US Citizen and her husband plans to begin petitioning for her this month. So lets all pray for that family as well.
