My spouse picked up her medical result today. Now we are all set for next Wednesday's interview. She paid N12,000 and N16,500 for 3 vaccinations.

Did you have any vaccinations and records that you took with you?

Lucky you. Our interview has been shifted two weeks due to the national holiday in Nigeria.

That country too dey take holiday sha.

Quick question...for those of you who had recent medicals, did they change the shot recommendations? what shots did you receive actually? We are being told that US changed the required immunizations by adding some, we need to verify this through your answers. Thanks in advance...

Every ones case is unique. It depends on factors such as age and vaccination history. What i did was i went to my doc and had a discussion with him. Before my medicals, i had him give me varicella, MMR , tetenus and Hep A. when i went for my test, i was told i did not need anymore vaccinations.

IMHO, it's a money grab and has no rhyme nor reason. Just do the medical at Childrens and make sure to get a copy of your DS-3025.

Yes indeed its amazing how just what September it was N12,000 for medical and N9500 for shots now shots went up to N16,5000 thats what 80% increase for same thing. And now they targeting the over 40 year olds to have EKG that are anoother N10,000. Good grief.

Husband did medical last year for his first interview, now they are telling him US added shot requirements since then. I am just trying to see if they are trying to fleece us for money! He shouldn't get the same vaccinations twice it isnt healthy for him.

Yep, we agree but it's one of those things that I was not able to fight since I wasn't on the ground and even then they can simply say that one failed the exam. Remember that theres only two places in the whole of the country to get a medical from. I have heard people paying N35,000 and another N50,000 for the medical process.
