Hello folks,

I recently filed for AOS from K1. Beside the central form I-485, I requested EAD I-765 but totally missed AP. I had a wrong assumption (never assume anything) that my maximum wait time for the GC would be four months. Having my assumptions corrected, I realize that I do need the AP because I would like to visit my parents back home.

- How long would the AP take in this case?

- I believe that I'd still have to pay the full amount of fee when filed separately?

- Do the biometrics taken a month earlier for I-485/765 suffice and reused for AP or do I need to go through this again?

I read that I could do E-filing in this case. Does anyone here have experience with e-filing for AP in terms of timeline?

Yep, it's still free.

Ap does not require biometrics.

I don't think you can efile.

The USCIS official website mentions that E-filing is possible for applicants with a pending I-485. See link below

Nope, that says that it is only for people who must pay a fee. That's not you.
