Not true. Or I miss read. The Petition Must be Filed within a LESS Than 2 Year Period. After that.. Proof of a Realationship must be shown. So I say: Not Meeting withing 2 years. Has No Effect.. The Petition must be Filed under the 2 year period. Not of having met within that 2 year time is Null and has no Affect. A properly effictive 129-f and NOA2 sent oversees this.. Petitions can be extended. But, you must File the 129-F in 2 years or less.. The above States: As long as you met within 2 years.. I have to dis-agree.. File the Petition before is the requirement. Correct me if I'm wrong. But, I don't think so....

meeting within 2 years & showing bonfide relationship is the mean requirement for this application, maybe you read it wrong. So if your applying today 9/14/2012 you could of had to have a face to face with your fiance 9/2010- 9/2012.

Im not even sure what you mean petition has to be filed within a less than 2 year period... Why would it take anyone 2 years to file a petition and what does uscis care when you send the application? Just make sure you have seen your fiance in the past 2 years and your relationship is real, that is there concern you have to prove that from the start of your application as well as during interview. Please study a little more before giving this kind of advice to someone. I think you may have completely misunderstood the instructions and requirements

I assume you already read the guidelines stating you should have met your fiance in person within the last 2 years before you begin the application. You'll be fine!

hello! i have a question.what if my bf can't visit me before we file the petition? we are planning to begin next month.but his last visit here in the phil is july 2011,last year. we have so many pictures together but the thing is we don't have a latest one. guys, is it ok to file and do the first step?its not yet over 2 years since his last visit. he's planning a vacation here but not as early as we wish because of his bc work. please help..i need some advice. :)

it doesn't matter if you've been in the relationship for yrs...as long as you've met within 2 yrs...so it does mean as well that the minimum time of the existence of the relationship is 2 yrs...the photocopied passport stamps and few dated pictures will do...Goodluck to us!

let me rephrase it "as long that it won't be beyond 2years of meeting your fiance..then you could file for him/her".

***using the math method/s***

In a non-leap year, there are 365 days x 2= 730days if he/she file for his/her fiance after 730days(which is 731 days...your doom (even just for a day :bonk: )

, in a leap year there are 366 days + 365 days= 731days. so ALWAYS double check your calendar

I misunderstand nothing about the 2 year requirement. You must File the 129-F in 2 or less years. After you have Filed within that time frame, you are allowed to make extentions as long as you keep in touch with the Embassy and provide a continuing relationship. Seeing your Fiancee within 2 years is not the issue. Filing the 129-F before 2 years is... after meeting.

I don't mean to be rude, but what are you talking about?!?1?! you said " You must file your I129-F in 2 or less years?"

2 or less years from WHAT?!?! from when you last saw you fiance correct?? OP meets the requirement to file next month because they have had a face to face meeting within two years. That is the only issue. If three years from now they file and haven't seen in each other in that time frame, they will be denied.

You keep saying you must file in 2 or less years... so can you inform me when that 2 year countdown is suppose to start from?
