Filing a Consular Report of Birth Abroad

Have been reading about the forms that need to be filled out for the CBRA but am making myself confused with the process and if you need to actually see the consulant in person to submit it or can it all be done via mail? Can someone please help me with what I need to do/send etc?

Needs to be done in person, unless you live in an area where getting to the Consulate would be too hard. I recommend in person because then you know exactly where you stand and they can explain stuff if you're missing stuff. Took a friend of mine a while because the forms weren't dated right. Her ex thankfully was helping her file for their son but he was taking his sweet time and was a bit of a moron so stuffed up the forms a few times.
