This morning, dragging myself into the shower, I gave up a prayer: 'I wish that interview date would show up in the mail.'

We went out later this afternoon and my husband checked the mail, and while I poked my head out the door to find out whether or not he had the application for our satellite TV, he told me something arrived from Social Security for me. I started to mildly panic -- I already have my SSN, and my job search hasn't reached a point of employment. He left it on the stairs and as I came down, I took one look at the envelope and saw Homeland Security.

My pulse probably shot through the roof, and I tore open the corner of the envelope with all the speed a panicked woman can muster. I happened to catch only the corner of the text "United States". Surely, this had to be a notice requesting more information, or maybe they'd noted that I might have forgotten to date a particular form correctly. Thankfully, I was wrong. It took me about a second to unfurl the sheet, scan down the list of text to "April 27" and I went running out the door like a little banshee, terrifying the living daylights out of my poor, poor husband who was sitting in the car and from the expression on my face (and probably the paper flapping around in my hand) thought the police might be banging on our door any moment now.

No, I have my interview on the 27th of April at 9.15 AM. And you know what? Strangely, I'm not worried. To get this far gives me a great deal of comfort and puts an end to the stress of waiting. At least now I have something productive to do.

And I got an interview for the editorial internship I went for, waiting for me as confirmation when I got home.

Today's been a good day.

15 January 2013 - Sent package off to Phoenix.
28 January 2013 - RFE: signature missing.
06 February 2013 - NOA 1: N-400 received!
27 February 2013 - Biometrics appointment (Detroit, MI).
01 April 2013 - NOA 2: Interview assigned.

15 May 2013 - Naturalization Interview, approved after 15 minutes.

10 June 2013 - Naturalized.

1/6/07 - leaving for USA

1/20/07 - Wedding Date

1/20/07 - MARRIED!!!!!

2/10/07 - rec'd certified copy of marriage license

3/20/07 - Rec'd Social Security Card

3/21/07 - Checks Cashed and Case Status online

3/24/07 - NOA1 Rec'd for AOS and EAD

3/27/07 - rec'd Biometrics appt letter - scheduled for 4/20/07 @ 11:00am

4/02/07 - "touched"

4/20/07 - had biometrics appt.

4/21/07 - rec'd letter stating case was transferred to CSC

5/22/07 - rec'd Case Pending at CSC email

6/25/07 - EAD card production ordered

7/7/07 - EAD "touched"

7/7/07 - AOS "touched"

8-6-07 - Rec'd EAD Card in the Mail

5-20-08 - AOS INTERVIEW - APPROVED - PASSPORT STAMPED

7-2-10 - Received 10 year green card in mail

K-1/K-2 AOS APPROVED IN ATLANTA MAY 17, 2006

10 year GC Approved - APRIL 16th ,2009 - Peggy and Jonathan's......

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

Congrats to you! It's good of you not worry about the interview. I PANICKED when I recieved the interview letter, but now I am so embrassed when I look back on it. The interview is nothing to be worried about!
