Ireland peeps, please help

I know that you typically have your visa/passport mailed to you after your interview (along with the do not open envelope) . Is it an option to go to the embassy to pick it up rather than have it mailed? Thanks is advance for the info.

as far as I know there is no such option, I wish there was one as I would feel much better collecting it myself ...

08-02-2012: NOA2 (195 days!!!)

09-24-2012: interview - Approved!

09-26-2012: visaarrow-10x10.png issued

09-28-2012: visa received by a registeredarrow-10x10.png post

11-01-2012: POE Dublin

11-17-2012: wedding

AOS Journey

11-23-2012: AOS package sent

11-27-2912: package received and signed for at the Chicago office

11-29-2012: case numbers assigned

12-03-2012: Biometrics letter sent to the old addressarrow-10x10.png (never received)

12-10-2012: NOA1 hardcopy for I 765 and I 131

12-15-2012: NOA1 hardcopy for I 485

12-28-2012: biometrics (missed)

01-17-2013: newarrow-10x10.png biometric date

01-25-2013: EAD approval

01-30-2013: EAD production

01-31-2013: EAD mailed

Thanks Sabi, as you know, with all the set-backs from start to finish, Ray would just feel safer picking it up. He would rather drive 2 hours there and back than wait for the post each day. I have a feeling it is not an option. They probably don"t want to encourage all that traffic in and out of the embassy. I am sorry you have no packet 4 yet. I hope you here something soon!

yeah definitely it would be better but I am sure they want to avoid people coming in since you need an appointment each time you get in... Plus the envelope will be huge and our letterbox is tiny so I am pretty much worrying about the envelope being destroyed but we will see. I'll ask the to send it over to my work.

Yeah it really sucks I am still waiting and the embassy doesn't answer my emails :(

Was so much easier in my day when you could just wait an extra couple of hours day of interview and get the visa right there and then.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

sounds good Penguin_ie , shame it all changed...

I remember when I applied for my tourist visa, the embassy sent my passport in a jiffy bag with a swift post, no signature required. I hope they send this one with a registered one as the option of loosing my passport is pretty scary
