Filing for AOS/I-130 but don't have I-94 as I came from Canada as tourist

I'm filing for an AOS (got married to an American) and I'm filling up the I-130 form and there is a section that asks for my I-94 record (date of arrival and expiration) but I came in to the US as a Canadian from Canada as a tourist and as such, I believe I would never have been given an I-94. My passport wasn't even stamped. It was slid through the machine barcode reader so I don't even have the exact date. What do I do in this case for this section? I arrived in the US sometime in late 2007.

N/A or none. They know that Canadians don't usually get I-94s.

Try to figure out the date as best you can. Check emails, phone calls, anything you can think of to get you as close as possible.

Thank you DandT, I was able to get my arrivale date from my Aeroplan air miles and for "Date of authorized stay shown on I-94 or I-95" I entered "N/A"

One last question however: in Sec 22 it asks "Your relative is in the US and will apply for adjustment of status t that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in:"

what do I put there? I am currently in Los Angeles, CA.

Put in your ZIP code and it will tell you where to go (likely LA, but it helps to check, I have to go to San Antonio even though the Houston office is about half the distance).

you would put the office thats closest to you. Ive heard that the local office in Los Angeles is really slow so if you would be willing to drive to the next closest office, that totally up to you.

Goodluck on your journey

I believe USCIS will send your case to the office having jurisdiction over your place of residence, regardless of which office you enter on the form.

As stated, https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO will tell you the local office having jurisdiction over your address.

Thanks guys. Well i'm just outside of Los Angeles so the closest one to me is the San Fernando office in Chatsworth. Hopefully they're not as busy as LA

I have one more qustion... in Sec 3 in the area where me and my wife input our place of birth it asks for the city and then "State/Country" so if I'm from Montreal, Quebec and she's from Los Angeles, California do we put QC/Canada and CA/USA or just Canada and USA respectively in the box designated "State/Country".

Please be prepared to explain your entry ,just had my interview today and out officer didn't seem familiar with the fact that Canadians don't get their passports stamped. He said he had to verify the date of entry before he can approved my case.

Redfire, let me know how that goes. If they run my passport in the system, it should show that I flew to the US from Montreal (PET Airport). I was even sent to the back room for further questioning when I crossed customs. Is there anything else I can do to prove entry? I don't have my ticket/boarding pass from 2007, so I'd be pretty screwed.

As I recall, we put my (USC) city and state and his (canadian) city and country. It is confusing and we argued a lot about what was right. But I won. :D

Our interviewer knew that you didn't get I-94s/stamps if you drove over but was pretty surprised we didn't get an I-94 for flying in. He ended up accepting it though. It might have helped that my husband's passport was stamped. I don't think you'll have any problems, but I have read where occasionally you get a less informed IO who will give you trouble. Anyway, the IO will have a record of all your entries, since you flew in. Your passport was scanned, I'm guessing.

We drove over the border but io seem ignorant to the fact that they don't stamp passports or give i 94. He asked me to walk him through my entry exactly what they did with my passport. He said he would check their system to verify my entry , I saw that he approved my i 30 but still at testing and interview for i485. I don't have a problem with him verifying my entry , I just don't know why he said it would take weeks since they only do it on their day off(he said Fridays). I also think that he should have been more informed or better yet checked before it got there,oh well guess I just have to be patient now.

thank for all the help guys.

I have one last question. In Sec 17 where it says "List husband/wife and all children of your relative"... is this section supposed to contain my (the Canadian alien) info or is it supposed to have my wife's name (the US citizen)? I looked at some samples online and they had the American spouse's info here.

I'm kinda confused because I thought this form was supposed to be so that it was my wife filling out the info for me as she is petitioning for my status as the American.

*EDIT* ok I'm dumb, I figured it out. It's supposed to contain my wife's info. It's asking for my relative's name
