travel/work during I-601 process

My British husband interviewed in August for his immigrant visa in London and was denied until he submits an I-601 waiver. We are both currently living in the UK, but Im only here as a visitor and must leave within the next 3 months. His job is also temporary as we anticipated the process to be finished at this point. My question is about what steps we need to take if he moves abroad for work and also for us to stay together. We originally started his processing in South Korea while we were both working there and changed consulates to London when our work contracts finished, so we would like to avoid a change of consulate again.

We are trying as hard as possible to stay together while we are waiting. What are our options? If I apply for a work visa in the UK will this jeopardize his case? What do we need to do to inform the consulate of our move and is it allowed?

Flying back to the UK for the final processing is not a problem, but we need to find work for both of us in the mean time.

Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated.
