I can only imagine how many unfortunate people have joined this website, not being able to afford a lawyer, hoping for help and have been fed falsly damaging information.

Anybody with any sense always does their due diligence when gathering information from a forum. Especially when it is of such an important matter concerning their loved ones and future.

It's clear to me this is a website that consists of old men with nothing more to go off of than the experience they've had with their mail order brides and the joy that get from having people think they are actually useful and knowledgable.

How incredibly offensive and insensitive of you. You come here asking for advice and immediately spew insulting remarks when you aren't happy with the answers given. Well, you did say you were too young to marry so maybe there is some hope.Unfortunately I can't offer you my uncensored comments regarding your remarks

I've been reading past posts and am disgusted by the abudence of bad information and stupidity.

Yet you still came here asking for advice? Why?

Quite the introduction you've made!

Our Op is the expert with his 6 postings. AM has been a supporter to this site for numerous years and quite helpful. I have seen a trend for hammering the long time solid supporters and posters lately, not quite right in my book. Best of Luck to you. The lawyers are much worse and have ripped off lots of the members here not to mention my own attorney issues.

Very insightful post there boiler.

So then this message forums purpose is to simply speculate and make unproven statements without citing the information to which you've received that information?

But Boiler while blunt, is correct. A lawyer is the best option and I hope anyone else on this forum in need of help realizes that and Dosent waste a single moment on here, because I no longer will.

Ask for a refund on your VisaJourney membership then.....

My girlfriend and I met while I was in Thailand last May (2011). We fell in love and she decided she wanted to come to America to be with me. Typical story. She decided to come here on the J-1 Visa. She got approved and has been here for a year. She is subject to the 2 year requirement. She has to leave on Sept.22 and we're desperate to be together again, yet too young to marry. (only 22 years old).

What are her chances of obtaining a Tourist Visa? She will go back on time. She has property in her name, a car, college degree, and will be starting more college classes when she arrives home. However she does not yet have a job.

Do you think it's a waste of time? Should we just settle down and go for the K-1?

Thank you.

I married when I was 22. It isn't age that matters, it is your level of maturity and commitment. Try to get a letter of no objection from Thailand, many people from other countries are able to waive the requirement ( I have not heard of a Thai example though).

Obviously you are objecting to her country women coming to the us, to have a better live and a happy marriage, is not that the object? Apparently she left China for the same reasons? My wife was a CFO of an Electrical Engineering company, not a misinformed, non-educated or poor person. We both found love in our later years, sorry you believe that a wife of 48 and an husband of 61 is out of line. VJ is built of persons of all faiths, education, backgrounds and countries. I gained a terrific family whom I speak with all the time, my brother in law is a fellow LE officer in China, I love my family in China, and will protect and defend them as my own. Unfortunately I can't express my true outrage about your uncalled for comments, your lack of compassion and lack of understanding of who Americans are. Further, If you can afford a trip to China you can probably afford an attorney or get legal aid if necessary, most here have benefited from VJ sorry your experrience has not been the same.

The typical story you describe almost always results in the same thing when it comes to tourist visas from Thailand for people like her. Especially at her age. Denials are a way of life for most. Her chances are not good overall but the fact that she returned after the J 1 might help.

I would suggest you check your attitude and try to accept the advise of some people here. Ahn Map for example has been a valuable member for a long time and I myself have learned to respect him and his judgement in a wide range of subjects. Its too bad that you choose to dismiss what he said because you will find out later what that mistake cost you.

I for one resent your punk attitude and I am certianly not some old man with nothing to do. Nor am I seeking your acceptance. You are exactly what you appear to be. A 22 year old punk. That alone will cause you to struggle and probably fail because reality is simply too much for you. The old men you describe are actually people to be respected no matter their age if for no other reason than they have already done what you cant grasp. So have I by the way.

You may be correct in asking if this is a waste of time. Plan on a long, difficult and lonely journey. Other than that terrific lawyer you will use.
